SE, whats it like in Dublin over Christmas?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I must admit I gave up after Peter Davison for a while, I didn't like Colin Baker as the Dr at all, but Sylvestor McCoy seemed to bring more of a sense of humour into the role, so quite like his ones. Got to give the new Dr's another try too and Torchwood.
Can't understand why there wasn't a sequel to Serenity & Firefly, it's got a massive 'cult' following.0 -

It's been thick icey pavements, so not done much sightseeing, mainly visited yougest DS's flat. The snow did make it look very pretty, but fortunately the thaw seems to be setting in. Hoping to sightsee on our next visit, will also be taking some supplies over, Dublin is expensive, well not as bad as Switzerland. With taking the car over next time we're hoping to explore other parts of Ireland too especially the Giants Causeway and the Burren.0 -
Oh I'd *love* to see those! And the west of Ireland in the snow, and the ring of Kerry..... Dublin's a great start tho! My great great grandfather always maintained he was born on St Patrick's Day in Dublin, apparently - I suppose *somebody* must have been, by the law of averages, but I'd love to see Dublin properly again, I didn't know about our family connection the one time I was there.
Have a great visit with Dublin and with family.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ooh, its difficult! Found a nice dress at john lewis, only £30, from Mango - thats a length that suits me, but the print looks quite old fashioned - on a youngster, it would be fine, but on me it will simply look old fashioned, not retro.
Does this link work to it?

Link works, I like it, but have no idea whether it will suit you. Retro is very 'in', suppose it depends what you accessorise it with.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Thanks gill - I think it would suit me, but would it be too young for me? Which would mean that it wouldn't suit me Sigh ... I'm getting nowhere fast. I get the feeling that now I'm headed towards *late* fifties, I should be looking at those straight up and down dresses that are very loose and hide *everything*, like Judi Dench wears. but I don't want to! I want to wear really fitted ones, very slinky, or more normalish ones that cost £150 or so .... my stomach muscles couldn't take the one, and my savings couldn't take the other
I asked for some feedback on the Occasions board, and a tunic dress with smart trousers could be the answer.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC I love the style and shape but I agree with you about the pattern, on me it would look old fashioned but on my sons girlfriend it would look so cute!!0

Thanks KM - right, that one's out of the basket!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

But I do think that any age could wear that style of dress if it suits your shape it was more the pattern that would make the difference...so if you could find that style in another pattern I think you would be on to a winner but I no thats probably not easy..0
