    http://www.agronomy.uhi.ac.uk/html/Bere_research.htm

Looking at that article, I don't think they "export" it this far south :p

Um I think I export it that far south..............if you fancy a bag to try let me know - I um, have local connections - and know the shops where they sell it - and maybe I've grown a bit.

    I've *heard* of that institute.....................:D

Nah its a very interesting place - if you feel wierd - do a linky rahter than a whole url - but it doesn't matter

Anyway the flour, I bought a bag of it today for a fellow blogger - who likes experimenting with bread - Plantilicious - and I've got 1.5 kilos - I can send you both some? I think she only wanted a lb.

    :)

If you're sure, Pippi, yes please, I'd love to try it - I'm following up that linky over breakfast here, currently got to www.gardenorganic.org.uk, a charity - it looks like it was the old Henry Doubleday Research Association.... interesting.

Well, I have my to-do list for today - but first up is tidying around, I've already done some - between not putting the washing on the dryer last night, and the stuff from the pantry being all over the place, and the shredding being out and put by the shredder, and the accounts still to be finished, the whole place is even more of a mess than usual :rotfl: I do think that kind of mess had something to do with getting ill, it connects in to the immune system somehow, so the tidying really is a high priority:p

Just found a summary of a report by an American organisation called The Environmental Food Group, about the foods that its most important to buy organic, and the ones you can get away with because they're not treated as heavily by industrial agriculture: http://foodnews.org/executive.php - that list is certainly something to take into account when deciding what to grow in your own garden ....

  • Love this 'grow your own' talk. I used to get a veg box delivered but stopped because I couldn't be around to take delivery but they had organic and non organic stuff, but most of the non organic was grown by small growers who did the best they could, but could not meet some of the high standards. Same goes for eggs, get them from farm shop, not labelled as free range, but I can see the chickens wandering round.
Nothing to put on my own diary so 'tootling' round everyone elses.

Its great, isn't it! Fills me with positivity that I can maybe live a little of the good life, a la Tom and Barbara, here in my very own suburb :) I don't have that much to say either, tbh - I have a list, but I'll bore myself to death if I post it, so I'll just do it as and when. Pottering about on the internet is much nicer :D
