    Oh yes...

I think your sister gave you the santised version of Calfornia, because that's not the worst I've ever seen.

The mid-western women are probably a bit better. Not only do the have a lift (or elevator as they call it) but it does reach the top storey.

I'm still chuckling at that. I wonder what the editorial attitude was behind printing that ....

Well from the tiny bit of context around it, it looks like it was written by a columnist.

    They were alas...

I actually found that clipping trying to track down a student protester who said very much the same thing. Jamie Oliver...your time is now... :T:rotfl:

I've always wanted to visit CAT.

Ryton isn't very to access via public transport really. The nearest travelodge is probably Dunchurch, but again one suited more for cars, it's at a services with a little chef, so nothing in walking distance otherwise. In Dunchurch itself there's a super indian restaurant, if you want veggie options they will do main course sizes of the vege starters. We normally have a main course tarka dahl & their veggie stuffed peppers and share.

Not found anywhere good for veggie options near the hotel, I've tried the happycow website and google, but nothing really stands out as OK, so having to defect for a while, but I am managing to avoid the wheat/gluten currently.

Se, I saw this post earlier on, but didn't comment. Thank you for this! I've just googled Ryton, and they have a description of how to get there on public transport - its a mile walk from the bus that goes between Coventry and Rugby, basically, and the bus takes around half an hour from either of those. I just googled Dunchurch too - it calls itself the gunpowder plot village :j I sense an early summer trip coming on.

And now I'm on the travelodge website, and I can see how close it all is to Leamington Spa - my youngest nephew has just moved there :) definitely a trip.

Yep! Now I have to remember the details for the next Travelodge sale :)

Its *cold* here - and I woke at 5.30, sob - but at least I could put the heating on straight away, so its not too bad in the house. Must get the new loft hatch fitted, and get the seal between the front door and the door jamb fixed - the hall is veering towards sub arctic, and I haven't checked the outside tap yet,as per the conversation on Wol's thread last night.

    Jobs today:
    - protect that outside tap, and any other bits outside pipe I can lay my hands on.
    - finish Shares & Dividends section of accounts - just got Santander to do (I apologise for being a shareholder of the worst bank in the UK, it was an accident, honest!).
    - do the French accounts section.
    - *zoom* to accountants, throw the books onto the reception desk and sob in relief at having finished them.
    - go to snazzy health food store and buy little pressies and stocking fillers.
    - go to Waitrose and buy slurpy pesto :D
    - poundland to buy hard fat for bird food
    - Primark is right there - another big fleece would be nice. I desperately need some more trousers/jeans that aren't falling apart, but I doubt I'll be in a mood to try anything on by then.
    - it would be nice to check out the Tesco gluten free stuff, as described on the matrix thread, but again, energy will be flagging by then - ref that 5.30 start this morning :D
    - run home and hide from the Arctic weather!

I use the Tesco Free From spaghetti and pasta and find them OK. Make sure the water is really boiling though when you put it in, otherwise it can go a bit gloopy.

Oh I definitely use them - in fact, I'm going to add the Asda Free From pasta to the pesto I get from there - its the same price as everyone else's Free From, but its organic, clever things!

When we went to ryton gardens it was in May/June time, which seemed good as it wasn't so hot that you cooked, and the garden was in full growth. The cafe has nice food, and I think we had veggie options, but it was a little on the pricey side.
