I am pottering too, trying for another £5 on Bingop, got some washing on, thinking about some baking as inlaws here later, did a bit of work on some folders - all since 6.40am, not bad for just pottering :D.

I have spotted some useful bit in that clinical depression book that I am taking note of for myself, using it to handle this current busy and naff time. Tried a relaxation techinique last night and also it says listen when your body or mind says enough, rest, then do a bit more later.

Same goes for eggs, get them from farm shop, not labelled as free range, but I can see the chickens wandering round.

There was a place near my parents which advertised eggs, and one of their chickens often used to escape from the garden, set up residence on the sign, and watch the world go by...

When you mentioned Garden Organic, we rented near their Ryton Organic Gardens and had a super visit there. Lots of ideas to take away and use in all different sizes and types of garden.

Its great, isn't it! Fills me with positivity that I can maybe live a little of the good life, a la Tom and Barbara, here in my very own suburb :) I don't have that much to say either, tbh - I have a list, but I'll bore myself to death if I post it, so I'll just do it as and when. Pottering about on the internet is much nicer :D

:) morning from over the other goodylifey fence!

    Great sites very interesting.

The whole organic/inorganic thing - I'm not organic - I'm as natural as I can be - but growing your own you've got the peace of mind that you know how the food has been handled - I like that side of it. Like Gillian said - alot of smaller producers are generally 'organic' but perhaps don't label or haven't bothered with certification (which is hooogely expensive) - getting local and getting things that are grown well (proper gardeners don't tend to use chemicals if they don't have to and then only as a last resort in alot of cases IMHO) - these days you can get the 'organic' version of just about everything - makes you wonder why on earth they went crazy daft about chemicals in the 50-60's - synthesising many things which naturally occur - bonkers really.

Wierdly though - or maybe not? We have a vegan lady on our veggie growing class who doesn't want organic fertiliser etc because for instance - organic fertlisers are often animal deritives or by products - she didn't want them on her garden and therefore wanted the 'mineral' version. It did spark up a bit of healthy debate - and our guru chap did point out that alot of the 'inorganic' fertilisers and additives are very expensive - therefore most folk are probably more organic than they realise by using manure/dung/chicken pelleted manure etc.

Anyway - I'll stop wittering - hello and good morning - loving all the goodlife chat as I stand here in my wellie socks!

    :)

Like animals I think its important to treat any food we nuture well - be them carrots or eggs or lamb chops - (not you for the lamb obviously) all food should lead a happy and fulfilled life animal, mineral or vegetable.
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

Hello! Yes, I don't use blood/bone fertiliser - I'm not vegan, I'll use animal products that the animal doesn't have to die for - honey, eggs, wool (except it itches!), lanolin, milk (except I'm intolerant - you can see how I'm a natural veggie :) ) it does make things difficult, but I accept that.

And I totally agree about the small producer thing.

Interesting that you can visit Ryton - maybe I'll find out the nearest Travelodge to there, and book a cheap room to have a visit and a lovely awayday - certainly, I've spent a full day at CAT twice in the past, I could spend a day at Ryton easy :)

Merino - nah, I'll stick with cotton now, I've been itchy like that all my life, but thank you - if I see some, actually, I'll have a try-on in the shop :)

CAT - Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, in mid Wales, its brill. Its a little bit loopy too, mind you, but in a California crazy way, not psychotic :)
