I see the vote is definitely in favour of pancakes :rotfl:well, I don't have electricity tomorrow, because the mice damage is being repaired, so that'll keep me warm, cooking them :D

In the garden, macgirl, I'm committed to growing my own berries and currants, along with herbs and other fruit - to take some of the strain off the new food plan, if nothing else, but I'd already planned to do it. And I'm wondering about eating my own hazelnuts - must research that!

Z - thanks! I suppose since its just flour, the "suck it and see" method that cheery and macgirl both do will be fine - I tend to overcomplicate things :o

Have you ever cooked mice before then?

Not expecting to be on here much, and I've just seen the time  expecting the electricians for that work .... wish me luck!

  • Good luck!

Hope the new health routine helps - it doesn't sound too drastic so hopefully you can integrate it without too much hassle.

    Have a good day :)

KC - on the planting calendar you've got, do you know where in the country it was, it's just that you can plant earlier and for longer in the south, whereas it's a far shorter growing season in the north.

For cup measures, I just used a small cup, and the recipes seemed to work out OK.
  • Hope you managed ok without the electricity and the mice hadn't done too much damage. I'm guessing you've run off with one of the electricians then :p

It feels drastic to me :o but it isn't really - I'm not getting quite enough variety, but since the leccy men have been here the last 2 days, I'm not going to beat myself up about that.

Er ..... I'm not using a planting calendar :o I could go to my free account on myfolia - that has your geographic location, tho I'm not quite sure if its accurate enough for the UK, its more the US, but the principle's sound, thanks se!

I wish! One was a grandad, one was a craggy countryman who seemed to mention his GF a lot :rotfl: and the other was a child - a tall child, admittedly, and one thats at college, but would definitely be cradle snatching for me :rotfl:

However, they've done the job! I'm being slightly picky about the plasterwork finish, which a light sanding will take care of, and about the rounded nature of the switches, which I didn't think to talk about with them .... but in general its really good. And it feels a lot safer :) He spent hours and hours checking the readings on each plug, eventually found the problem, mended all the iffy bits, and now instead of having a circuit, I have two radials - :D I know in detail what that means

    **liar liar pants on fire**

I know enough to know that the work needed to be done, even tho I was nearly crying yesterday with tiredness. I even got out today to the post office - I had 3 books on amazon, and one sold! plus the kits for kids shirts I'd managed to collect. I've been back here ever since, sort of holed up, and I will be for the duration. Off to look at the boards, which seem v quiet, as Squizz commented on her thread.
