Thanks Taxi - yes, I do definitely feel on the mend - still tired, still ill and swollen glands and whatnot, but that feeling of "I'm better than yesterday" is there, has been for several days now - not today, actually, because the London trip takes such a lot out of me, but thats predictable.

Its *still* raining here! Off to get ready tho, so when it does stop I can go go go :)

I'm sure it will, Lula, thanks. I did go to town today - and I even measured the office, accurately  but I forgot to take details of which vinyl I wanted - well, I was 80% there :D

Took lots of books to a charity shop, bought a selection of Thorntons dark choccies for my mum at Christmas, bought - cos it was there - a mat for the back door, which has been making do with a tatty old piece of carpet. Even had a rummage at WH Smiths, tho didn't buy anything. Happy camper here :D

Glued to the armchair since I got back, of course, apart from eating .... and I shall be for the most of the evening, I think, if I'm not in bed - or eating

Sounds like a good day ... now have armchair envy as well though ;)
  • Glad you are feeling better KC. Just keep up that ' a bit better than yesterday' feeling, and you'll soon be fine.

Plans seem to be coming along well too. Is it just me, or is WH Smith a bit 'down market' these days? Not price wise unfortunately, but the layout and 'feel' isn't what I remember it being - it feels more like being in Stationery Box or Partners.

    Thanks both!

I think you're right about WH Smith - it must be trying to compete in price, but it looked one complete mishmash of "this is cheap!!!!" screaming out at me. Not good.

A guy I know reckons Smithy's is going to be the next major retailer to go bang like Woolworths.

Perhaps they're just looking for any custom.

Interesting, Z - it wouldn't surprise me, not from the way it looked today, tho they had a lot of stock. I was also *really* good about not buying anything, btw .... its very tempting after having been incommunicado for so long, but if I had, it'd just have been a reflex - not a good enough reason to buy!

People have been saying this about WHS since at least this time last year though. Having said that, I didn't feel it would be surprising, then, and I still don't now!
