xx2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hurray, all done now, the house is mine for the next few days, I have a cup of tea and I'm not afraid to drink it.
I was going to go for my 15 minute walk, but it was raining, and now its **throwing** it down  but I did do 15 minutes in the garden, breathing, and bagging the last of those rhodendron cuttings.
I'm airing the house, I know what I'm going to eat for tea, now that I've finished I don't want to go back to bed ... there's nothing for it but to do my accountswhich is really a :j

Where did I find this web address: www.booking.com ? Might have been MG's thread .... The Residence Tabor in Prague ... single ensuite, E16 per night! Prague!

It looks really nice. Off to a European train website.
EDIT - https://www.seat61.com = oh my god, they know so much about booking rail travel in Europe.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hello Karma & all - long time no post & there are pages to catch up on
Good to hear you've seen the herbalist & have some new things to try out.
I really do have travel envy now ... I have plans for global wandering when DD all grown up & independent.
Best get on with debt clearance then ...0 -
Thanks Squizz - but they don't want to play with Prague
hey ho, seat61.com will tell me how
I *did* get out for my walk, and sometimes I love my life, even the sogginess of the life we have today over most of the countryI was doing the health checklist, and working out how I could boil then simmer the detox tea in a stainless steel container ... suddenly remembered, one thing I *haven't* decluttered is a little pan I bought in Turkey - one of the ones with a pouring lip at 90 degrees from the handle. Its heavy, and I just checked on wiki what "inox" means - its a synonym for "stainless steel"
No lid, but it has to simmer for 10 minutes or so. I bet I can find one
:D:D
Hi Lula! I have travel envy too - I haven't done any this time around yet! But I simply refuse to carry on living like this, I'm not going to splurge, but I *will* have my life back.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
You can simmer without a lid can't you? Or if not - good luck!
Sounds like you're having a nice day
seat61 is FAB. I think I said I once got the orient express from Paris to Vienna for £25 :j :j Pretty basic accommodation (ordinary train carriage, but with lie back seats, kind of like low tech dentists chairs :rotfl:) - but got a proper sleeping compartment (and tea and croissants for breakfast!) on the way back for £125 - gosh it was exciting0 -

That sounds fab KC. Seat 61 was the site I found when planning my trip. I used all of the information from there but then looked up the prices on the local train services rather than booking with them. When booking OHs ski trip last year I saved him over £200 in total for 3 mens tickets compared to using the site 61 recommendation for the Brititsh booking lines. It was quite time consuming but worth it. I told OH that I would charge commission this year so he booked it all himself! Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Another one here with travel envy - I've bookmarked the link to the hostel in Krakow, must go and find out if they have speedway there then consider whether we can stretch to a trip next year!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'd never heard of seat 61 before, isn't it brill!
Simmering - absolutely, it can be done without a lid, cheery, but it uses more fuel and steams the kitchen up faster, thats all - just being very mse
And I've done all of ten minutes on my accounts
Sorry to be the cause of so much travel envy sprouting up - but it is nice to dream, isn't it - and with the positivity we have here nowadays, we *will* have our dreams :j:j:j2023: the year I get to buy a car0
