Glad you enjoyed the dancing KC! :j :j Well done you for going :D

As for torches - what about a little wind up one? I've got one that you kind of squeeze with your hand to make it light up, it was from Poundland and is in the shape of a cow :D Don't know how you are with squeezing, but might be alternative to batteries? (alternatively, if you can't squeeze, leave it lying around when you have visitors, mine ALWAYS play with it, and then it's got plenty of energy stored up for when you need it! :rotfl:)

Have a good one today :) xx

Yep, its odd, isn't it, about the mystery shopping ... but there are smaller towns than this one involved - Cuckfield, Burgess Hill and so on ....

The trading ... thank you for asking! No, I haven't tried yet - I had a schedule in my head to start getting back into it in october, and seriously trading in November. But these are the issues I'm facing with it:
    - where I trade in the house: this is currently good, my laptop is on the desk in the office, with the phone, no problem. But it *will* be totally disrupted by the workmen when they install the 2nd toilet, as the office is where it will go.
    - the laptop is very slow, much too slow to trade on .... essential to buy another one, and I'm researching that at the moment - and thats one reason I was looking for a 0% purchases credit card, when I got turned down a few days ago!
    - the internet connection - its by phoneline, which isn't as reliable as the cable I had at my other place.... I've been investigating logging on on the net to look at the charting system and actually doing the trading on a phone.... so I've been researching phones.
    - and in researching phones (I need a new one anyway, this one can't send texts any more!) I've come across dongles. I think they're the answer, but I need to do a bit more research.

Sorry KK, that was probably more than you wanted to know, but its helpful to me to lay out where I am with it :)

EDIT - oops, crossposting cos I take so long.... Cheery, thats a really good idea with windup ... *somewhere* I have a windup radio.... must get a torch, I like the idea of one that looks like a cow :D

P.S. Could you please point me in the direction of mystery shops, I could do them in my lunch hour rather than mooching around the shops trying (and often failing) not to spend money!

  • Karma first thing I did this morning was checked if you went...and you did :-D I'm so pleased for you.

I understand how easy it is put off all the 'socialising cravings' because its so much easier and safer and comfy to stick to the usual routine but then its a viscious circle staying envious of people who have a great social life and knowing that the only thing we an do is take them steps. And you've started to break the cycle x

So glad that you enjoyed last night, and that you can go again!

And as for the trading, well - I just have a feeling that by the end of next month you will be ready to be fully operational and oozing with confidence :D

Wow, I didn't realise mystery shopping would ever be "local", I always imagined it would be in the cities rather than in lil ole towns like the one you live in. Good for you! I might have to look into mystery shopping one day, I'm constructively critical (ok, I can be a beeyatch if I don't get good service, lol) so maybe it'll be a good sideline for me!

How's the trading coming along? Have you done any since getting your internet sorted?

Strangely, I have found that the problem with being in a city is that there are too many other people doing mystery shops so you have to be very quick, and I'mn usually not around when they are listed, or they are ones that I can't do for some reason, hence I hardly ever do them now.
Glad you enjoyed the dancing KC! :j :j Well done you for going :D

:rotfl::rotfl:Love the idea of visitors powering up torches for you.
I have a dynamo torch from pound shop, and a little wind up one too. Handy to keep around.

Glad you took the plunge and went, and that it wasn't all check scarves and cowboy boots.

It's probably too difficult to explain, but what on earth do you do when you are 'trading'; I've read your posts about it before, but it seems a mystery to me.
