36 jobs, 12 days, that's three a day, that's easily done! Get that superhero cape on! (no, seriously, it'll help!) :rotfl:
I reckon you can do it!! (plenty of rest in between though!)
We;re all rooting for you.... :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
And as for soap - never used soap nuts! But I have tried making my own soap - mostly successful! It gets used for all general handwashing duties round the house, I dissolve it and use for washing up liquid and general cleaning, and I grate it and mix with washing soda/borax to put in the washing machine. I did try using it as shampoo, but I have really rather long (and oily) hair, and it didn't work very well. (also tried the sodium bicarb/vinegar thing on hair which I didn't get on very well with either sadly).
Making soap is a bit of a pain, takes a whole evening, and the process is a tiny bit dangerous  but it's only olive oil and lye (which apparently ALL soap has in - that's the chemical that turns it from oil into soap). And once you'd done it you don't have to do it again for another few months, so it doesn't really take much time overall, and costs very little!
Anyway, shouldn't be posting loads of things or you'll be tempted to read them! :rotfl:0 -
Ooh, Cheery, that sounds interesting - I shall ask you when I've moved!
Just done the thanks card, and also I've taken some listings off Amazon - cheapo ones that aren't going to sell any time soon, where there's 50 selling for 1p - I'm not taking those with me, so they can go to the charity shop today. ... off now to do the blutaking. I like your confidence in me!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning - hope you get through a good chunk of your list today - and that your head doesn't explode (Pippajo, stardrops, love it :rotfl:) xDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Its good that, innit :rotfl:
Lists aren't doing too badly - done the blu tak thing, started to pack boxes and then the phone engineer arrived - hardly took her any time to find the fault and mend it, so then I had to get all my messages and answer them. And I was starving too.
It looks like the move is reelly reelly happening - nearly all the contracts have been signed, exchange is probably on Monday  Nothing for it now but to have a 2nd cup of coffee and then go out and buy the biggest bar of chocolate I can find2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Crikey, you really are motoring now with it all. Thank goodness for the easy fix of the phone. Your lists are putting me to shame.
DH is still ill, dr's have given us some meds for him, but if carries on overnight its off to the hospital. He's been ill approx 25 times and lost 10 lbs in one day .
Blood tests came back clear, but they wont do any more until he is better from this bug.
Really still thinking about the no chemical stuff - while in Boots I looked at their shampoos etc £3.99 for one that is 97%. It just seems so expensive for these kind of products.
Do you need to use as much with natural/organic products?0 -
Evening KC...hope the list is going nicely....it probably won't take as long as you imagine to get through once you start.
Glad the phone is fixed so that you can get through the long list of phone calls.
Pippa sorry to hear DH is so ill..hope he can recover soon.Have they no idea whats up with him?0 -
Hi KC
well done on your list.
Although it looks a lot, some of them look worse in the planning than they really are.
Your plans for 'things to look at once I move' are getting bigger too! Soap making is fun, and if you can get it right its a nice source of unusual gifts for friends. Morning,
DS got a fun scence kit for making soap. Might have to look at trying to do an adult version sometime as I like the gift idea.
Meds have stopped DH being ill. He's gone from 15.3 to 14.6, but actually looks better for it. We thought thyroid, but he hasn't been able to take his regular meds and seems better without, so it may be that when he went to the higher dose of one of them he is one of the rare percentage that have a reaction. Back to the Drs friday so I hope he will look at lower doses and see what happens.
(sorry for hijack :kisses3:)
Quick question - is the body shop "proper" organic chemical free etc, or only part - trying to get my head around the differences0 -
:hello: Morning!
Pippajo, I'm glad your DH is a bit better, that sounds awful to be throwing up like that, no wonder he's lost weight.
Organic stuff - I don't think there's any substitute for looking at the ingredients - some organic stuff has only the majority of ingredients as organic. Body Shop, just like anyone else, it must be labelled as such - they're not an organic shop. These days, I wouldn't even take the label organic as a matter of fact - I'd check they've got the Soil Association logo on (or is that only food ) how little we know once we start paying attention to this stuff.
Gill, interesting that you noticed the "when I move" - partly thats my usual idealistic "I'm really going to change this time", partly its my feeling that I'm doing nothing but prepare to move, and partly its a sense that I'm getting older, and it really is now-or-never for a lot of things. For instance, I had a bit of a shock yesterday - I saw the M&S sale advertised on the main site, and went in - there was a lovely check smock reduced to £12, and I haven't bought anything like that at all - but the pain from the arthritis at my collarbone (especially after leaning back to get my hair cut, to be fair) meant I couldn't actually get my size top over my head, I had to stop. Pretty sobering.
I agree about the list tho - once you start, its better, and things often turn out to be less work than you think. I really hope so, anyway :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Cheery can u give me the recipe for the soap etc .... What dos I need to buy to do it in ... I fancy having a go
