Not sure about the Monday, El? The move is Wednesday 18th - and you guessed right, I'm panicking inside! My stomach knows about it too :( yuck.

I'm dying to investigate that soap thing, as well as the soap nuts - I can't do a lot of expensive things, but taking money away from the supermarkets and doing things either cheaper or at the same price, I'm well into that :)

I don't think I'm going to be able to touch my big "moving list" today - between phone calls and work, its all a bit full. In fact, much as I love wandering about on the forum, I think I have to get going.

    Later xxx

See this stupid phone .... That meant to say how's the nerves holding

It mustve been Very sobering trying the dress on in m&s ... I remember going for bras I had to take my friend with me cause I was ( and still am ) incapable of putting a bra on myself without alot of pain and time ... And when being fitted for a bra you just don't have the luxury of time

Exciting that the contracts are nearly done!

Pippajo - I've been trying to use only natural/ organic toiletries this year and it's been a bit trial and error as to which work well. The difference in my skin has been quite significant though - I have quite sensitive skin and tend to get a mixture of spots/ oily bits/ excema/ dry itchy bits depending on the body part which is quite annoying - it has definitely improved all of those, so I would say it's worth paying the extra. It's worth having a look round online to try and find things on special offer to try them out (eBay can be good for this) - I've found some really aren't that effective and I've needed to use loads, whereas others I would say I use less than normal products. Like Karma says it's difficult to be sure of how organic the ingredients are though, but you can only try your best. I would recommend the Organic Blue range, Duchy Originals, and the Naked shampoos/ conditioners are very good (think they are 97% natural, can't remember if they're organic).. their sunflower and cinammon shampoo smells amazing!

Morning, KC it's getting close now! !

Pippajo - sorry to hear about your OH, he does sound poorly :( Hope he gets over this bug soon so they can sort him out

I use this soap recipe on this cheery blog :j It's pretty easy to do (although takes quite a lot of patience!) The first time I did it it worked well, the second time I had to remelt it (but there isn't a problem, and it set fine after that), and the third time I got all over excited and added lavender and oatmeal and things, and I'd broken the thermometer so had to guess temperatures, and it works as soap, but doesn't look very pretty :rotfl:

She also has some recipes/ideas for green cleaning things, and I'm pretty sure she's written about toiletries too.

No idea about organic toiletries - i tend to veer towards making things myself because the organic ones are so expensive! So I make soap (you can use organic oil, not sure about the lye, it's 'chemical' but it just changes the chemical structure of the oil, so not sure how that works!).

This is interesting, thanks Squizz. Ebay is a good idea for things like this.

This sounds great! When its a question of doing something once every three months as opposed to paying all that money extra for organic stuff, I think I can start to make my own once I'm in the house and that initial building work has been done. Everyday, I'm not so good, but once in a while, yes. Especially when I have a dishwasher :D

My list is looking awfully good, by the way :D:D:D

On the toiletries thing, not sure how 'organic' it is, but I use castor oil and olive oil as cleanser, with witch hazel as an astringent. At least the money isn't going towards mega packaging and big conglomerates. I'll try and find the info someone on frugal living thread posted.
