But sounds like you provided much needed support and comfort to the man.
Wol's right - friendship isn't about how often you keep in touch, and don't ever be afraid to get back in touch after a while. Sometimes sending a postcard just saying hi, how are you can be enough every few months (or even years!) if you're too sheepish to ring up. Mostly people will be delighted to hear from you, however long it's been. And you blatantly aren't rubbish at it anyway! Isn't it bizarre how messed up our perceptions are sometimes??
Very well put DaffI saw a friend at the weekend who I only see a few times a year, but we text almost daily.. but the other one of our little circle of three close friends is very rarely in touch with us other two and lives abroad, however when we do meet up nothing has changed and we just chat as if we saw each other yesterday.
Karma, sorry to hear about the funeral but you will be a wonderful support, I'm sure.
Hope all is well otherwise xDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
:hello: Afternoon all! Yep, everything's fine thanks, I just had to be out early for that doctor's appointment - just came online to check my email, and zoomed straight out.
Turns out I do have arthritisI have a blood test and an X ray to help determine which sort. Since the blood test has a reliability of only just over 60% (and lets face it, random chance has a 50% chance of being right!) I'm not holding my breath, but I will go, and I will check self help. Other bad news is that computer use aggravates it (woe  woe  a thousand times woe:eek:
After that, I zoomed to Asda to stock up on smart price pesto, still 88p thank heavens - and found out that I can get a free bus to an Asda from Haywards Heath, Mondays and Saturdays. It stays there for 1.5 hours, which also gives me easy/free access to a Matalan, a Brantano, an Argos and a Next. Not bad
Off to do a mystery shop then, after putting some more books into a charity shop, and to Sainsbury's for the bulk of my shopping - I wanted to spend £20, so that I could use a 10% discount voucher I had, but I had too much weight to do it, cos of the pesto. Ah well, got another one in that transaction.
Bad news when I got home tho - my sellers and I don't know who that means, the people who are selling to me or the people I'm selling to) don't want to move till August 20th :eek::eek: I really didn't expect that or want it. And worse, thats the weekend of the Southport Flower Show, which I've been *promising* my mum I'll go to, and which I actually *want* to go to. Sods law, really.
Can't get in touch with the conveyancer at all, I'm starting to wonder if he's decided I'm too awkward, tho it was him that left a message this morning, so I don't think it can truly be that. Hey ho.
I've got the remnants of my cup of coffee from lunchtime, and will have some water shortly, then input the mystery shop and have a mooch on here. Hope everyone's doing well.

All sounds very busy - I'm sure it will all work out fine with the house and don't be silly re the conveyancer thinking you're awkward - it's his job to sort out these awkward things!
Smartprice pesto though - I thought you only ate Waitrose's?Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
All sounding good at your end ...
Conveyancer was probably just out on a job..lol..what are you like0 -
Boo hiss to arthritis KC
And grrrr to house sellers too! Pah! Hope you manage to get it sorted out.

 Can't believe I didn't mention the arthritis (this is what comes of typing sneakily amongst Excel windows
) - hope you will be able to find good ways of managing it - maybe you'll have to use some voice recognition for here and your blog etc... x

I did! But that was at £1.25, and then it jumped to £1.75 and I cut down, and it started to get really silly at £1.89 - I was experimenting with other brands, and the smartprice is brilliant, it just has a bit more garlic. The normal stuff at Asda is horrible, I don't know what they've done to it, but the smartprice is great

I was wondering about voice recognition, I'll investigate when things are a bit calmer.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi KC
Sounds like you have been busy again - grrrr to the moving date and arthritus - my mum has it bad and I've got it in my shoulder, wrists and hands already. Mum has some fab drugs which really stop the pain and aide movement.
Sorry been off here for a while and havent had a chance to read your blog as things have been manic with work, plus cars broke down and so did my fridge freezer. Luckily due to my run of bad luck with anything mechanical or electrical I took out a warranty offer last week so it's covered :money:
Need to get back on the MSE wagon as saving for a new car so will be hunting around for hints and tips.

Turns out the people I'm buying from have botched the giving notice to their tenants thing - although they did it almost a month ago, because of rulings by their agency, it only started to run from a few days ago, and it lasts a couple of months. Hey ho. The trouble is, it puts into jeopardy going to the Southport Flower Show with my mum, I've wanted to go for ages, and she's actually just bought tickets for us....
Sorry to hear you've got arthritis too - I'm going to take anti inflammatories (Nurofen!) but I'll investigate other stuff too - chondroitin, I've heard of, and msm, not sure what that stands for. Blowed if I'm going to be this bad and getting worse for the rest of my life
It'll be interesting to see what you think of the blog if you get round to reading it - but wow, two big breakdowns for you - I'm glad you've got it covered.
After that lot today, I did the inputting for the m/shop, and then had to do my paid work, so I'm only just surfacing now, to have a whoosh around and peer over the walls. See you later xx2023: the year I get to buy a car0
