I always check the people when I travel past a crash - this one seemed to be a tyre blowout, I *think* ...... there just wasn't any other reason.
The lack of reductions!!! Not sure why .... stuff I bought was cheap tho:
60p each - 4 x litre soy milk
46p each - 2 x 500g cornflakes
60p - 1kg carrots
75p - 1.5kg onions
9p - chocolate dessert
69p - oatcakes, expensive but necessary snack
95p - 8 basic bananas
69p - soya cream, since Wol is coming down tomorrow....
Total: £7.09 not bad!
Today: weird day. When did I suddenly become such a socialite? Bits and bobs of shopping in the am (including nicking aforementioned pens); then Egyptology, with a friend; then meeting another friend down from London for the day, who rang up on spec; and then out for my business partner's birthday meal ( v cheaply!) with him and his wife. Huh? And Wol tomorrow!!!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
And you said not many bargains - your life sounds like a social whirl wind
enjoy it all!!
This weekend for me......hmmmm brace yourself
Pigtails in (helps cheer me up)
Charity shops with dd
Garden need to do logs
DD has a chum being 'thrown here' for 3 hours whilst her mum works
DS needs to help with logs
Dishwasher to do
washing to do
need start putting something together for evening class
Batch cooking for week ahead and meal plan
Perhaps a movie on the wall (projector) with kiddies later.....
I will go to the beach latrer though and enjoy the sunny (but blustery weather) might even take Darwin with me - must get him some new gas actually - well reminded
UM - thats me - go me - London sounds so exotic! (although I am not complaining about where I live - I love it here - just a bit unsocial at times)
And you'll have some autumn colour soonish or now? I miss autumn (it doesnt happen here) odd the things you miss isnt it?
Have a great time with chumsglad the accident was not 'too' bad - its hideous seeing them, I am a first aider so I tend to look just in case no one's there to help - though how much help I'd be - ?

:hello: Honestly, Fay, what you're describing is usually my life! For ages, I used to say I'd only do one thing at the weekend, cos it was too exhausting otherwise........ I don't think I've had a weekend like this *ever* i.e. four different sets of people, only some of whom know each other. Very weird. When I used to be mad busy, it was cos I'd gone away with drinking buddies for the weekend....
This is what you get when you stop hiding from life :rotfl::T
I wonder if I'd better pretend to be cool about all this :cool::cool::cool: maybe not2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Glad you are having a social weekend it will do you good - redress the life balance and all that
and reduce the games of bingo she plays thereby increasing my chances ...............................................................

Good one DT. I don't play bingo so you could technically say you have tripled your chance there.
Hope the birthday bash is good KC. Totally jealous re the Egyptology stuff.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

:hello::hello::hello: Morning all!
Thats a very good idea to chill in relation to the windmill, Wol .... for me, but also after what happened to you after you'd posted last night
Well, yesterday was lovely - tho Barclays are still safe from me :rotfl: once again I didn't get there in time :rotfl:Egyptology was *fascinating* - but terribly detailed, I'd be hard put to say what I learned - basically a maverick scholar (who founded the local society but now lives in Spain) has identified a different pharoah from the one everybody thinks as the one that started building in the Valley of the Kings. And as a sideline, re-interpreting the ancestry of Tutankamun.
Very funny bit about Howard Carter measuring a tomb and using both sides of a well to get the right distance described in a particular papyrus..... there was a controversy between Carter and a guy called Weigall. So we had a little display with the laser pointer: "Carter stupid, Weigall clever.......... stupid......... clever......... stupid..........clever........... whose side am I on?" I guess you had to be there
Anyway, a walkies along the beach (the sun was going down, it was *freezing*, then a quiet meal in the restaurant I went to for my birthday meal last year - it was good again, and for the first time in years, I had a glass of lager, fed up with wine and they only sold full bottles, not halves, and only two of us would have drunk it - not mse enough at the moment!).
Crashed out when I got home, before midnight, pretty good sleep, and here I am!

Enjoy the garden centre and the piggies if there are any
Jealous here - have fun
