Glad you understand! I'd keep hold of a property in England, of course, and rent it out ... it might even be one in Formby, though just for the height above sea level, I doubt it.
I wouldn't worry about that too much - it depends whether you're worried about a house submerging under real sea water or modelled sea water (at the bottom).
I do notice that predictions which were once 20 years out, are now being pushed out to 100 years - it avoids the embarrassment of still being alive when your prediction fails to occur."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Thanks for the links, Z - its very, very puzzling, I have to say ... once again, I need that dratted confused smiley....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Right, I managed to do the garden work - this is a piece of the garden that literally hasn't been touched in a year and a half, so naturally it hasn't been showing too well to prospective buyers
Swept the path - dug down to the path, really - put it all into a binbag to rot down for mulch. Got a couple of those that I did a few years ago, and emptied them out to spread on the ground and threw the disintegrating binbags away. Dug up a few annual weeds and managed to dig up the roots of a few brambles as well.
And then, the thing I really wanted to do, I managed to put down two courses of weed suppressant membrane! Each about two metres by four - I think thats a bit of an exaggeration, but not much. Very pleased with that :j:j:j
Completely filthy by then, of course, so I went to get a bath. And the boiler's stopped working :eek::eek: Luckily, I have an electric shower, tho I have to be careful using it because there's no sealant around the bath at the moment :eek::eek:
This is getting ridiculous. So I've decided to ignore my fear and get rich. Slowly, true, but rich.
I'm off out tonight to one of our games evening (board games, with a nice bottle of red between three of us - such lightweights we are :rotfl:) and I'll have to check the boiler again tomorrow. If it hasn't decided to work again, a temporary repair might do for now.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Enjoy the evening - fight the fear and go for it!

Morning! A lovely time was had by all last night, thank you! It did mean I delayed the start to getting rich
but thats okay, people first. And I'm going to have a cup of tea with my partner's wife later on today, which is also good, *and* I've made my list of must-dos for today - little admin jobs, really.
The boiler's still not workingSo I've cleaned out a spare washing up bowl, and I'm going to fill it with the electric shower (better than my kettle, which is tiny) and do the washing up that way - I have to keep on top of it for the potential viewings  of which there are none at the mo.
No paid work today  so I'm doing background type work:
- the bitty admin listed above
- something in the garden
- prepare my spreadbetting stuff - I list news events, for instance, so I can avoid them.
- watch rightmove and globrix for new properties.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I had to run away from the computer  a bee decided to make its home in the living room, so I had to vacate to give it time to go.... note to self - once the flowers near that window are open, don't try to do the spreadbetting with the window open - it will end in tears
I put the time to good use, most of the washing up is done, and I've just booked in another viewing for the place at 5pm tonight - will have to postpone tea with partner's wife
The to-do list becomes more important! But just now I'm having a restorative cup of tea by the computer.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hi turfy! Glad to see you. Yep, I'm quite peeved about the boiler - I've been using a different wallplug for whatever electrical connection its got, and now thats stopped working too. So, to be honest, I don't know if its actually the extension lead thats gone funny - I have another one I can dig out, so I'll give that one a go first.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
