It was looooooooong, but it was great - they had that viewing window at the back, that covers the whole width of the carriage, so the views were brilliant. And going through eastern Chicago was freaky - miles and miles of abandoned steelworks, it was dreadful. The customs stop was pretty funny too - it took them a while to get the foreigners off, and in the meantime lots of the Canadians and Americans were off the train in any case, picking berries that grew near the side of the tracks. Good days!

  • Ooh lots happening in KC world - I like it. I am glad the estate agents are doing the viewings for you - I have a feeling you would be a little too honest with potential viewers better to leave it to the experts and thats what you are paying them for.

I have been very naughty not been on for ages which meant I had lots of pages to catch up so just one small question did you write or ring Northern Rock if not I would ring them and ask them to put it in the post and if the settlement figure adds up I would pay it off pronto - just one little call is all it takes and after what you have achieved recently it will by easy peasy - sorry I will butt out now - looking forward to the housewarming not angling for an invite or anything mmmmmmmmmmmm

You've been so busy KC, sounds all good and positive from the agents. Im sure you will sell with no probs as DC says I too feel you may be too honest with prospective buyers, and its great they will do the viewings for you. You can be out having a cuppa somewhere whilst they do the hard sell. Good luck with the viewings.:j

  • Train trip sounds amazing - I'd love to do the rockies - but wonder about the length of it. Lol to buying a full price ticket - :)

Glad the folks arrived at same time and took nice photos - everything crossed for you this end.

Its like xmas again here - never thought I'd be sick of the sight of snow.

None of course at home - *typical*

    Goodluck :)

You're absolutely right about me being too honest - the agent said as much himself :rotfl: I'd try, but something would slip out :o

:o:o:o I haven't rung Northern Rock - I got really focussed on the house selling :o I'm supposedly on holiday for a few days right now - I don't want to do it now, I can't bear talking to them.... I'll do it the week after Easter, I promise but thank you for telling me off :T:T:T

The train trip was great, the whole trip was great - two theatre festivals in Canada, plus some quiet time in the Thousand Lakes Region, the Niagara trip and The Mars Society Convention in Toronto, then the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) in Chicago, and I flew out from O'Hare. Lurvely.

The pictures of snow in Scotland today tho

That sounded like one great adventure and think of how many more you can have when debt and mortgage free.

You're right Taxi - great trip, and more great trips in the future when I'm debt and mortgage free - I've been thinking - the higher-priced houses do look nicer. But at my foreseeable income, I'll be beggaring myself to live in them. I'd rather live somewhere smaller, still decent but smaller, and have more disposable income.

I disappeared from the boards really quickly yesterday because I'd got the timing wrong of a visit to my sister - I thought it was next Wednesday, she thought it was yesterday. Decided to go with yesterday, because my nephew was there, and because of the train strikes next week, I just wouldn't be able to reach her very easily. So I got home at 8.30 last night, absolutely *shattered*. Good to see them all tho.

And the really important thing - I got an Easter Egg :D

Hiya - its a foil-wrapped little confection, from the Pasticerria Antico Castello - "cioccolata finissimo al latte" - finest milk chocolate, I think! She works at a very posh school, its from one of the kids, which is why she was keen to pass it on :D
