Thanks El! You're right about the last home thing - I can see a move only if I stop working at home completely, for instance, and want the security of living in an apartment block say, with a videophone or something..... but not until thenme and my millionaire tastes

:rotfl:Its this move to Haywards Heath, Seaxwyn - I've worked out that *if* I get what my estate agent says is a price he can get for this house, and I buy a less expensive house in Haywards Heath, then I can be debt free and mortgage free. This is a possible house, tho it needs some updating its *really* close to the station, doesn't have the character of the ones I looked at today, but still...http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-24115447.html
I walked up that road recently, and although the houses look a bit boring, its a really nice road, open aspect, and the leisure centre is literally 5 minutes away as well as the Sainsbury's superstore and the station.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm sure when you find the right house it'll feel just right and the more you look at the more chance you'll have.0

That house looks fine! I like the kitchen and the big windows in the sitting room. And the garden has potential. Go for it! Being debt and mortgage free would be so liberating!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Awww, thanks folks! It would be great, wouldn't it. I keep thinking of my rellies up in Norfolk, they're only a few years older than me, but they're both retired and live in a perfectly ordinary semi - but they have the most humongous holidays really regularly, touring America and Egypt, Amsterdam is a quick weekend trip - *and* they grow their own veg. Once the basics are taken care of, the world is your oyster :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That is a very healthy attitude to have

Thanks Hypno! I've engaged an estate agent, and after checking things out on here, I've gone with the HIPs provider he recommended, phoned them on Friday - so, not quite, but getting there
