Very odd - I seem to have had a bit of a blitz on dooyoo - I noticed on that late night I had on Friday, that my dooyoo points would expire at the end of May - no way will I let that happen, even tho it was only 4500 or something. I wrote one on the bus yesterday, I wrote one last night, and I've just written another one now! Diverse tastes too - Liverpool, an investment training course, and a Katherine Kerr book. Quite fun, but I'm going to stop now, in case I make myself o/d and can't bear to go there for another 8 months :)

Thats weird, Fay, sorry to hear that. I just rabbited on, really - I'm pretty hot on appropriate size paragraphs, and different "from", not different "to", because I had it dinned into me as a teenager, but thats about it. I'm sure I end with prepositions and all that junk. Split infinitives! After all, I'm a science fiction fan, and the most famous split infinitive in the world is "to boldly go" :)

The rules are really simple - I don't know why people get them wrong:
    1. Make sure each pronoun agrees with their antecedent.
    2. Just between you and I, the case of pronoun is important.
    3. Watch out for irregular verbs which have crope into English.
    4. Verbs has to agree in number with their subjects.
    5. Don't use no double negatives.
    6. Being bad grammar, a writer should not use dangling modifiers.
    7. Join clauses good like a conjunction should.
    8. A writer must be not shift your point of view.
    9. About sentence fragments.
    10. Don't use run-on sentences you got to punctuate them.
    11. In letters essays and reports use commas to separate items in series.
    12. Don't use commas, which are not necessary.
    13. Parenthetical words however should be enclosed in commas.
    14. Its important to use apostrophes right in everybodys writing.
    15. Don't abbrev.
    16. Check to see if you any words out.
    17. In the case of a report, check to see that jargonwise, it's A-OK.
    18. As far as incomplete constructions, they are wrong.
    19. About repetition, the repetition of a word might be real effective repetition - take, for instance the repetition of Abraham Lincoln.
    20. In my opinion, I think that an author when he is writing should definitely not get into the habit of making use of too many unnecessary words that he does not really need in order to put his message across.
    21. Use parallel construction not only to be concise but also clarify.
    22. It behooves us all to avoid archaic expressions.
    23. Mixed metaphors are a pain in the neck and ought to be weeded out.
    24. Consult the dictionery to avoid mispelings.
    25. To ignorantly split an infinitive is a practice to religiously avoid.
    26. Last but not least, lay off cliches.
"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'
"Blowing your mind, 'cause you know what you'll find, when you're looking for things in the sky."
    OMD 'Julia's Song'

Absolutely! You're not a miserable cow, and Z *is* a star on the boards - for the comedy and for the challenging and thoughtful posts.

I'm challenging myself to go to bed right now :o after having completely failed to understand even the first steps in the dratted casino reload offer. Ah well. Stranger things happen at sea.

Hope everyone sleeps well - especially you Taxi, with that tooth giving you the horrors.
