Thanks Squizz. Just spoken to my colleague, who calmed me right down when he pointed out that her request to use that room took place before we set foot in the new rooms
:o:o It has the *effect* of kicking me out of my regular slot, in my regular room, and she's asking me that when she knows thats what it is - but she booked it when it was completely open, and she's remembering that too.
In light of that, I just have to suck this one up - tho I will add it to my list of grudges against the place:D:D - and I'll emphasize its a one-off and I'm really Really REALLY doing it out of the goodness of my heart. And I'm never going to agree to that again.

What a pain Karma...I also assume you are feeling protective of your loyal client?0
-
Absolutely! Continuity and consistency on every level are one of the ingredients of successful therapy, and I need to protect that for my client. However, I hadn't "bagsied" the room when she made her original room request, that much is true, and I *did* have an emotional over-reaction, based on my own history of the triangle between my sister and my mother and me, so ..........its a compromise. I'm not happy about it, but in the first few weeks in a new place, there has to be a bit of give and take. If it looks like I'm doing all the giving and none of the taking, then we renegotiate. Big time.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Well you realised where the anger is coming from- so that is a good start KC. Interestingly enough i react in similar ways at times, to things which *wouldn't* in the general scheme of things matter so much.
I try and focus on the why- i now realise i am just human, at the end of the day and i have my pressure points as much as anyone else.
I hope you find a long term solution to the problem.xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

As you say, we're just human - its just the sort of thing I work on with clients, so I'm always very alert to seeing it in myself.
My fantasy long term solution was to offer both the client I'm concerned with, and the other one I've just started seeing in London, the opportunity to work with me at my home, as most of my clients do, and make a big effort about getting the time right for them. It would make my net income from the sessions much higher, to be honest, and take less time. Hmmm..... I might do it anyway! You've got me thinking again, Bob.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I think that sometimes our sub conscious leads us to finding the right solution..Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

You may have come up with the ideal solution there and I'm sure that you and your clients can sort it for your house and the extra money is a bonus.0

Hmmm.... you know, I think I'm going to aim in that direction. Can't hurt. May help, a great deal. I'd *love* to not have to deal with the people I rent the room from. Thanks for the postings and the thoughts, folks.
Other stuff: I've just finished clearing the mound of books in the 2nd bedroom - about half posted on Amazon, some put by to ebay if I ever do (they're on a shelf out of the way now) some stacked to go to the charity shop. The listing blitz is because of the comments I've had this last week about how tidy the living room is: its time to step up my game, and do the same to the other rooms (gulp). The way it was, even having the estate agent round would be horrifying. Its looking much better already, tho still a way to go.
The other puttering task I'm doing - those CD sleeves I ordered arrived in today's post, and I'm **really** glad I ordered them. The quality is absolutely fine, and the height of the stack of the old CD sleeves is amazing, compared to whats now on the table. I'm very pleased. One more step to decluttering other rooms2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
