I am another who doesn't like to wear clothes in bed so have a couple of nice warm dressing gowns, but I don't like sitting around the house without a bra. The cheapo sports bras sound like a good idea for weekends when I am not going anywhere and so don't need the support but feel wierd not wearing one.

I wear jeans and casual t-shirts / jumpers for work, but often change into trakkie bums, old shorts or leggings when I get home. I really should put on an old stained baggy t-shirt too, as I have noticed recently that lots of my nicer work tops have got stains on from being a messy eater. My partner also thinks I am wierd for changing out of my house clothes if I need to pop out for something. I almost never wear makeup so that isn't an issue!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

  • Gosh, I feel such a slob reading this but being a slob makes me happy:D
Indoors I wear slouchy trackies or pjs, I don't even consider wearing a bra although I'm fortunate in the boob department that they don't hang low;) I also work from home so very frequently conduct business in my housey stuff or worse in my nightie:rotfl:I have big furry slipper boots that I wear all the time, I have also been known to pop to my friends next door for a coffee in my housey stuff, not the nightie though and when my dd was younger would take her to school in my pjs with a big coat on and of course stay in the car:D Housey clothes and nighties usually come from ASOS, peacocks or La Senza. I never wear smart clothes (suit etc) unless I really really have to but like dresses and jeans/leggings with loose fitting tops for everyday wear, I consider my self very fortunate that I can wear what I want when I want after years of corporate dressing:)

    WHY??????

Better to slob out in a cheapo sports bra than an underwired one.

Plenty of people who never do sports always wear non-wired bras, which are basically the same principle, pregnant and breast feeding women wear non-wired bras for the benefit of their breasts. Your boobs don't know the difference they just know whether the bra fits, whether it does the job, whether there is wire and whether they are supported. A crop top or secret support vest would be another option for those that need support and don't want to wear an underwired bra round the house.
  • I'm another one who is a bit of a slob when I get home from work :) During the day I have to wear fairly smart clothes but as soon as I get home, it's jamis time :) I have loads of different pairs and am another one who can't seem to go to Primarni without coming home with another pair! And slippers, I have about 4 pairs to match whichever pjs I'm wearing (sad, I know)!
As soon as I get home I go up and get showered and changed into my pjs and then I can finally relax! I don't do the cooking at home (I'm shockingly bad so my OH does the cooking and I do other chores instead) so I don't need to worry too much about cooking smells getting on my pjs.
If I'm not going out anywhere I tend to wear joggers and a t-shirt around the house but if I was going out I'd get changed into something else, usually jeans or a skirt. I don't wear a lot of make up for work but I'm quite happy to go without if I'm at home, just a bit of moisturiser and I'm good to go! :)

My mam and my sister are both the same but it's good to know we're not the only ones!!!

because they really compress your breasts ideal for when your playing sport thats what i was told when i bought one for sport!
    :footie:
  • But the compression over the full area of the breast shouldn't be a problem. It is true that some sports bras work mainly on the basis that they squish the breasts flat to the chest to stop them from bouncing, though most are getting more technical than that now.

To be honest though the one I slob out in is one that is too light support for me to be able to wear for any sort of impact sports, it wouldn't be comfortable to slob out in if it compressed them too much.

The compression from a sports bra shouldn't be worse than a normal bra though as it is spread over a larger area, as sports bras have wider backs, wider straps, higher necklines, broader under bust bands and no wires so you shouldn't get too much pressure.
