It was probably always there, but he's just managed to turn it on when your computer starts up. All you need to do is go into messenger, click tools, go to options, and then sign in.
Uncheck the option that allows it to start up when you turn on your computer.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
used to be able to remove it from add and remove software in the control panel, It would be under windows componants. I know this as when windows XP first came out the later version of Msn messenger wouldn't over write the older version and you ended up with 2 working versions. Which was pointless as the older version constantly said there is an upgrade.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

MS are very keen on pushing their crud and making it hard to bin (remember clippy).
Best to nuke the machine from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.0 -

Download Search Everything ,type messenger and all associated files will appear. Highlight one of them then edit/select all, right click and delete
Very simple to use.
Will remove movie maker as well.0 -
My mistake was entering my login details into messenger when I got my new PC. Despite telling it not to sign in automatically, it completely ignores this instruction and I ended up being chatted to at the most inopportune moment
Damn you, OE, for starting up messenger every time!My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
