I'm just fed up of everyone asking 'is he walking yet'!! Getting really annoying now, it's like being pregnant and being asked 'have you had the baby yet/any signs of labour?' You start to not want to talk to anyone.
I remember not wanting to talk to anyone when I was pregnant because all (almost) everyone talked about was me being ill. (And when I didn't have a job and everyone kept saying, "Have you got a job yet?" as if I would be keeping it a secret.)

If it's the same people persitantly asking, I'd probably say something along the lines of, "If he doesn't walk for another six months, are you planning to ask me every week until then?" or, "Do you think I'm going to keep it a secret from you when he starts walking?" (But obviously worded at a suitable level of politemess according to who you were speaking to.)

Interesting bfing fact, obviously bfing supports the immune system, a child's immune system isn't finished until they're about 8, at about 8 they lose the ability to latch on. I just found that interesting :-)
I was wondering after last nights discussion, when do Chimps stop BFing their young? I always think that most of what they do is probably what humans did when they were like cavemen etc or (I would say random tribes in the rainforest n stuff would be a good place to look but I think it would be easier to find the info on chimps via google :p)
I remember on one of those documentaries about extended feeding there was a girl who lost the ability to latch just before her 8th birthday coz she said she wanted it back in her wish while blowing out the candles.

Just wondering, do people go to bed at the same time as their OH?

Mine likes us to go to bed at the same time, but he wants to stay up way later than I do. He likes to go to bed around midnight, but then wants to read for a while, then chat so it's getting on for 1am before we go to sleep. I'm then back up with the bairns between 6.30-7.30am, and on the go right through until bed time the next night.

He gets up for work around 5.30am, but he's back home by lunchtime, then sleeps from 1pm to around 6pm, and lays in bed until around 10am on Saturdays and Sundays.

He's getting enough sleep from that, but I'm not getting enough sleep and my health is suffering. I'm just knackered all the time and catching every bug going, waste too much time feeling like I can't be arsed, and I'm making mistakes in work and uni.

I've been staying up with him to avoid a row, but I'm feeling really crap now so I'm going to have to find the bottle to say something I think :o
I would say just talk to him, he must realise that you are getting up only a bit after him but he's having a big nap in the afternoon.
Can't he have the chat before he reads his book?
My hubby goes to bed around 10pm I usually go up around 12 (unless I get distracted chatting here)

Hi everyone, just a quick hello :)

Elliot will be one next week! He still isn't walking yet, seems to be the last one to do it but I can't really do much about that. He's eating really well though, loves his food :D He keeps saying 'yeah' to everything, i say no and he says yeah!! lol.

    Hope everyone's ok.

    keely.
ooh exciting birthdays!! Chris only started walking a few weeks after his 1st birthday as others have said it normal :) There was only one or 2 of Chris's similar aged friends walking before him

Weezl - I have the P&T too :D The fabulous thing about it is that it's not wide, do you want me to list pros and cons for you? I'm happy to :)

I think Sami is right, as always!
  • Keely, Aimee walked at 13 months, thought she was going to go sooner but you know what these babies are like for keeping us waiting! Are you doing anything next Friday? Mfd's coming to Walsall, we're meeting up in Starbucks if you fancy it? Promise not to ask if he's walking ;)

Morning,no time to catch up, sorry, bad morning. Sore right boob! :( And after being really organised this morninga standing waiting for Erin to appear at 8.35 this morning after she went up to get dressed she came down sobbing (knew she was in trouble) as she'd decided to put nail varnish on for school. Bright orange, caked on and even on her face! I had no remover either, thank goodness for neighbours :o so I'm only just calming down.

Just seen, good luck for Sat morn Caz. X
Too many children, too little time!!!
