I hope you had an ok night Elle
It would appear I'm officially a toddler feeding weirdo! Hooray! (She talks (well she says milk and book) and walks so I think that makes her a toddler!) tbh I used to think that bfing a toddler was really quite odd (so I completely understand other people being of the same opinion) but now, well she just seems too little to stop!
much the same with us Fritha. OH happily BFing still, he gets cow's milk with his meals now though, expecting to slowly migrate cow's milk in fully but no rush, and he's definitely toddling! Book and milk... E has "cup, banana and bye-bye". And possibly daddy, but he doesn't use it very consistentlyunderstanding a load of things now though....

are you still in that exhausted phase weezl? i thought those early days that were so tiring were worse than the late stages of waddling
Morning all!
Hiya emlou, yes, this first bit is pretty grim for tiredness isn't it?! I've been buying myself afternoon naps using skills swaps, bits of OH's annual leave and have paid with real money for 2. I know I could soldier on without them, but I want both a healthy pregnancy and fergus to have a happier mummy, so that's how I decided to play it.;)
I think the worst bit might nearly be over though, since I think a lot of energy came back in the second trimester with Fergie, and I was working 5 days a week and commuting for 3 hrs and walking 4-5 miles a day! So that'll be good if I get that energy back!!!!!
Boring weezl health facts from my MW appt for anyone who's into that sort of thing: My BP is 106/58
before this Pg I had got back down to a BMI of 21.7 and now it's 23.7. I'm not too worried though, because I gained a lot in this bit with Fergie too, cos it's the nausea that makes me eat IYSWIM?
Back to Fergie: he may have cracked the sleep problem! he went from bed at 6.40 through to a dream feed at 10.30 then slept til 6.30:j:j:j
Still struggling to get enough milk and food into him, but not too worried as he's hardly a skinny boy
I told DH about Tine saying her husband would have her sectioned if contemplating a second pregnancy at this stage, and he thought it might be reassuring to other ladies if we explained our thinking on why it might be quite a good age gap, just in case it happens by accident and anyone worries that it's horridI'm not saying I think anyone else should do this, just that there are some plus points as I see it.
Plus points: Although having solids, Fergie doesn't have meat, and this is fine for him nutritionally. Any animal owners will know that dealing with the poo of a meat eating animal (cat/dog) is a completely different kettle of fish from dealing with the poo of a vegetarian animal, (think, cow pat)
Fergie still has around 4 hrs of daytime sleep. By 18 months this will almost certainly not be the case, but great this way for a pregnant mummy
Fergie is barely mobile ( bit of rolling but nothing too tricky except the fall) so I will probably get away without too much running after him for the super-tiring first part.
I'm still on maternity leave, and will not return between this leave and my next one, so no full and standing train journeys for a PG weezl this time
Fergus will be too young to notice and mind and feel jealous of a new baby.
If it's a boy it is very MSE cos their birthdays will be 3 weeks apart and baby 2 will be slightly larger (usually) and therefore all the clothes will be the exact right time of year :rotfl:
They often play well together if close in age.
So if anyone's contemplating it, it could be cool- albeit a little bonkers
Hope you are all ok, Hugs to elle, and brilliant new house vibes to caz and Hot water bottle hugs to mm
And love to everyone
weezl x

Just wondering, do people go to bed at the same time as their OH?
Mine likes us to go to bed at the same time, but he wants to stay up way later than I do. He likes to go to bed around midnight, but then wants to read for a while, then chat so it's getting on for 1am before we go to sleep. I'm then back up with the bairns between 6.30-7.30am, and on the go right through until bed time the next night.
He gets up for work around 5.30am, but he's back home by lunchtime, then sleeps from 1pm to around 6pm, and lays in bed until around 10am on Saturdays and Sundays.
He's getting enough sleep from that, but I'm not getting enough sleep and my health is suffering. I'm just knackered all the time and catching every bug going, waste too much time feeling like I can't be arsed, and I'm making mistakes in work and uni.
I've been staying up with him to avoid a row, but I'm feeling really crap now so I'm going to have to find the bottle to say something I thinkHere I go again on my own....0 -
Becles - I had the same problem when I first got together with my OH. I had started to go to bed around 10.30ish to accomodate early mornings but he was a 12 pluser. I didn't feel I could go to bed early because it felt like I was being anti social .
Anyway I've adjusted back to his regime now and just catch up on sleep as and when. Luckely I'm not back at work yet!!!!
WEEZL - my cousin and aunt have children close together and I did envy it a bit - they keep each other company from a young age so entertaing them is sooooo much easier. Plus they learn skills from each other too so stuff like potty training can be easier.
FR|ITHA - on your fact....heres hoping I don't have to still be a booby for another 6 years.

Andrew's okay, blood tests today have come back with low Hg levels so he's having another blood top-up, hopefully that'll also help reduce the number of de-sats when he's off the Cpap device. He now weighs 1lb14oz, and they're increasing his feed to 7ml/hr to try and build him up faster.
I got my (eBay'd) Medela Mini today, so I don't have to hand-pump EBM every time, my right arm was beginning to ache. I bet I don't get to the top of the list for a loan pump from the hospital before Andrew comes home (can't afford to rent hospital-grade).
Thank you for the update Tigs. I'm glad everything is moving in the right direction for you all. Do you have any idea when Andrew will be allowed home yet?0 -
Any poos from Fergie and Seth yet?
Elle - how are you doing today? Did you get much sleep in the end last night?
Tia - Glad the party went well and, I didn't say yesterday, but what a b1tch that old lady was. That is shocking.
MM - hope you're feeling a bit better this morning.
We've had two goods nights running here. Two nights ago, she didn't settle until around 9pm but slept all the way through until 5:50.
Last night, she went to sleep about 8pm. DH re-applied dummy once about 9pm and then she slept until 2:10. I re-applied dummy and did the same again at 3:20 and then she woke up for a feed at 5:50.
So mummy is feeling a bit more human and happy with the world. Amazing what a bit of sleep does!! (although I'd gladly have some more!!)

Becles - we tend to go to bed the same time, but we're the other way around in our house (or we were until Caitlin was born - now I always want sleep
).
I used to be happy to stay up until 11pm but DH wanted to go to bed around 10pm. He gets up at 6:30 to start work for 7:30am and doesn't finish until 5:00pm, so he said he needs his sleep. Because it would take me a while to actually get into bed after getting changed, make up off, teeth brush, etc, plus have a little chat, we kind of fell into a routine where we'd go upstairs to bed around 10ish and then be ready for sleep around 10:30pm, so a bit of a compromise.0 -

((hugs)) for Elle. Try not to worry about the production dip - stress/upset affects me in a big way but it bounces back. Hope today is a better day.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Crikey, you are going to have one huuuuuge happy when it finally makes an appearance!! Caitlin's doing about one every two days and there is so much, it usuallhy leaks a little (and it's pongy!)
**TMI alert**. Six days after giving birth, I still hadn't been but knew I needed to, so bought some lactulose. I can't remember the dosage for adults off the top of my head but I only took one 5ml spoonful and that was enough for me. Couldn't stop for 24hours then
I spent £5-something on the lactulose and only had one spoonful. Not very MSE0
