Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Ahhh! So I could carry a bottle of water, and put powder in a seperate bottle, thank-you. X :D
If I'm going out I take a sterile bottle with teat and cap on and a carton of ready made milk (doesn't need to be refridgerated and can be drunk at room temperature or warmed up if required. Tom drinks it without it being warmed up no problem. Much easier than faffing around with mixing formula or warming up bottles, keeping them warm or cold etc.

i'm going to sneak in on that hug sami, i'm a wibbly mess today - realised its 9 weeks til i'm due back to work

and OH has changed job roles which means he will be making more sales and earning very slightly more money, but that slightly more will be making a huge (bad) difference to our benefits. i think i'm going to call off the wedding. we cant afford to eat let alone pay for a wedding. and seth is going to end up being brought up by a ruddy childminder, taking his first ruddy steps there, first words, i'm going to end up missing it all :cry::cry:

    Good thinking Batman

Although I did buy the formula cup thingies which fit into the bottle for when u are out and about. I think you put the hot water in teh bottle, then add the forumla into said thingy and pop inside the bottle. Keep water warm, then when you need it take thingy out, add forumla and shake.

Aw big hugs to Elle and Emlou - :grouphug:

On the milk production front, there is a tea that can be found on the net called breatfeeding support tea which is meant to be very good (although not tried it myself) and funugreek capsules (from healthfood shop). I used these but didn't breastfeed for long enough to find out if they worked.

aww honey you get in on the hug, you need it xxx
Is there no way round it? are you still better off going back to work?
I wonder if you still get the childcare element if you do voluntary work
I think you said you wanted the grown up company - would that work?
    xx

  • aww em, I know how you feel. I was the same when I went back to work after Jasmine, and I think that was the trigger for my PND to spiral out of control. Please talk to your OH about how you feel, go on entitledto and check what difference it would make if you were to cut your hours, or even change jobs.
And of course, let all the frustration out here :)

thanks guys, well ideally if we could stay earning roughly the same as what we have coming in at the moment we would be absolutely fine, but this stupid change he has agreed to (switching from admin/sales to just sales) means that we will have to pay maintenance to DSD (i dont begrudge this one little bit btw, but even the csa agreed we cant afford to pay anything at the moment), we will lose A LOT of housing benefit entitlement, and we wont get a lot of help with childcare either.
and if you take all benefits out of the equation completely, i get £125ish currently for maternity allowance, and £270 a week at work full time, childminders round here are £3ph, pay them for 9 hours a day/5 days a week thats £135 and i'm exactly £10 a week better off - and thats before you take tax into account, so even if i go back full time we are going to have less money! i really dont know how we are going to cope.

do jobcentres still have a facility where you can make an appointment to go in and discuss benefits and things, and get "quotes"? i know quote isnt the right word but i couldnt think of the right one!

    :(

ETA sami, its weird but i dont feel like i need the grown up company as much as i did, i think i've bonded with seth a lot more over the last month or so than i had done from when he was born up to the point i said that :o
