Baby's are fine... It's the toddlers roaming with chocolate biscuits you have to watch ;)

*agrees* :D Not even biscuits, they can, quite literally, pull stuff out their !!!! to make a mess with

Feely, if the giraffe was a bit bigger I'd get it for DS2. And a bit cheaper... he has teeth. :rotfl:

What is your experience of this? Do babies tend to get pooh/sick everywhere randomly? DH thinks it would be a good idea to buy a cheapish rug to put down in the main part of the living room so that we can clean it, but if it gets too bad, at least the carpet isn’t ruined.

Does anyone else use anything like this?
    Do you think it’s necessary?
Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. Hope to join you all very very soon and get to know you all better.
you'll only get pooh on it (generally) if you let them go nappy free on it.
sick is white-ish so doesn't stain.
Its in a year or two that they cover it in juice, tomato, chocolate, bluberries and knocked over mummy drinks :p
I'd go with the rug idea or can you get it scotch guarded?

    Hi Fitzio,

We've just had a similar carpet put down (chosen whilst I was pregnant!). When Rhys is lying on the floor, we have a multitude of small blankets for him to lie on, plus always have a muslin to hand as he has reflux so we mop the dribbles up quickly. The blankets are easy to sling in the wash at the end of the day and we like the fact we have lots of different textures too so it's something different for him to touch.

We don't do a lot of nappy free time (haven't had much of a problem with nappy rash - slight redness three times in 17wks, two of which in hospital when he was only changed every 6hrs) but he's quite, errrmm, predictable so we know what is a good time of day to try nappy free time and when is a time you really don't want to risk it! ;)

What did people think was a good rate for granny having fergie per day? I was thinking £30. Too much? Too little?

    Would appreciate any suggestions :)

I will be paying an Ofsted childminder in London £35 per day so I think that £30 is quite generous. I might pay £20 and then buy her a little something from Fergie after the 10 weeks (I think thats what you said)
