Caravan cleaning out today ready for the weekend, ah that's what it probably is, withdrawal symptos from wine :rotfl:

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
I have told him that i'm going to get her 50 quids worth of her massive WHSmith book wishlist - she gets a bit panicky if she runs out of reading material.
You've probably joined already but if not, you should join the WH Smith Privilege Club and print off a handful of their vouchers. There's usually one for £5 off when you spend £15 on kids books, plus others.Val.0 -
Hello everybody....am I glad to be back! Have now sorted myself with a new mouse and can actually use the pc without cursing and swearing non-stop.
Hugs and congratulations to all I have missed since Thursday....seems like much longer, hope that I haven't missed anything earth-shattering in anybody's life.
Steak and mushrooms for dinner, with oven chips which OH loves. If I have time I will pick some more beans, we all love them so they are being used as fast as they are picked...wish I had put in more of them. Should make a weetabix cake as we are out, but might leave it until to-morrow and try for a few blackcurrants to go in an apple tart....very slow to ripen here so am going to do as much foraging as I can over the next few days which are promised to be good.
Thunder is catching up on sleep at present, the person who rang DD4 about him had been feeding him for a few days, so I think that he may have had to do some hunting...good for him really as Sile has always been a good hunter but he always seemed to be too lazy...he also picked up some sciortans or ticks so has had to be treated for them but seems in good form, he and Sile are back to their old form together which I am happy to see.
Patentgirl....congratulations on grandson Oliver...like the name.
HJ...glad that you have winkled out stalker...nasty habit that.
JackieO...hope that your arm is better soon.
Hope that everyone else is well

Afternoon everyone, anyone mind if i join your lovely thread?? I've dipped in and out of a few threads on here but struggled to keep up with them, thought this chattier thread might be easier!
I'm 6 months pregnant and seriously nesting!! I am trying to get the whole house and our lives totally organised before baby arrives in December and things are going well so far. For the first time in a long time i would be happy for someone to call round unannounced as the house is presentable all the time so no need for the mad dash round throwing things in cupboards before anyone arrives!! from reading on here i now have a household manual and whole new filing system which also incorporates a monthly meal plan and shopping list, daily, weekly and monthly to do lists as well as preparing for summer/winter checklists, a christmas presents list which i am ticking things off of as i buy them, a spend diary and monthly budget and many other really useful bits and pieces. I have been accused of being obsessively organised but i am LOVING it and am much happier for it. I feel like a proper housewife now (i do work 3 days a week and run my own online shop as well!). I'm also working on slowly getting rid of the debt that we have and am making slow but steady progress with that.
So as for my daily update, i've been at work today and not been back long so i'm just chilling with a drink for half an hour before starting on a few chores, i've already, done a load in the dishwasher, hung out the towels that were washed overnight, and done a quick tidy round including wiping over the bath and sink. I need to do a loaf in the BM, empty the DW, update spend diary, cook JP's fishcakes and peas for dinner, and reload the DW. That'll probably do for today apart from feeding and walking dogs, checking horses, feeding chickens and collecting the days eggs as i'm finding it quite tiring after a day at work so i will probably sit in front of the telly and stitch a few more of the squares i've knitted onto the blanket im making for baby. I'm not at work tomorrow so will get on with more housework then.
Will stop waffling now and look forward to getting to know a few more like minded people on here0 -
Hi all:hello:
Belated birthday greetings Mioliere, sounds like you had a good day.
(((Hugs)))) Jayward
Congrats to patent girl and DD.
Meanmarie, really glad to hear you gotrthunder back OK.
Halight ,hope you are feeling a bit better now.
I've been a busy girl, playing with my new toy-the sewing machine I got for my birthday.I've made a top for myself, black and white print with a white facing round the neck ,collar and cuffs.I'm quite pleased as it must be 25 years since I made any clothes, and its turned out ok.Had to unpick the neck bit and re-do,but got there in the end.The only thng is there is hardly anywhere to buy dress fabrics round here.I got the black/white from a factory shop but the choice is very limited,so today DH and I went to the Trafford Centre to go to J.Lewis, but it was all curtain fabric so was a bit disappointed, but had a nice pizza for lunch.
Made 3 batches of soup yesterday, mushroom, carrot & butterbean which was on the soup thread, and Sunday roast leftovers soup, which will do for lunches the rest of the week.
I am having my haircut tomorrow, its lasted really well, but is starting to go out of shape now,so coloured it in preparation yesterday,to cover the grey bits up.I like going as my hairdresser is a friend-I used to work with his wife,so I can catch up on all the news.
Smells like tea is nearly done,we're having chicken breasts filled with garlic cream cheese wrapped in ham ( plain turkey steak for DS2-he's been a bit itchy the last few days.
Its been nice today, hope its the same again tomorrow.Havea good evening everyone.I suppose I'll have to wait till later to watch Econ Gastronomy as England are playing.
Welcome to Raggydoll and any other new people I missed.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Congratulations Patentgirl!!!!!
NoahsPennilessMummy: the doctor said exactly the same, if it was something like ADHD he would be the same 24/7 and not just in school. he is going to speak to someone in Children's Services though for advice and then get back to me. He does however think that it is a problem with school rather than with my son. After all that though DS2 behaved brilliantly in school today, no idea whether it was because he went in late, or because he'd had a row the night before, or because he had a male teacher standing in for his usual female one... anyway he has had lots of fuss and praise for being good and I hope it lasts! He is 5 BTW.
thriftlady: thanks for that, hopefully he will grow out of it too.
Maitane: I have a feeling that he may be bored, but school won't have it that he is. His older brother (there is only 20 months between them) is ahead in all subjects and is given work for the year above, but he is the stereotypical "swot" whereas DS2 is a bit more cheeky! IMO though he is also ahead, in fact his reading is almost as good as his older brother's. I have suggested to them that he might be bored and misbehaving because of it, but they just make me feel like a pushy mum for suggesting it! Grrrrr...
Anyway I'd better get on with supper (sweet and sour chicken with rice) as DS1 will be back from football practice soon ready to eat a small horse!
Have a good rest of the day x0
