I came on here for bit of a moan (yet again).

Why do people who should know better, still post on codes only-no discussion!:(

I understand they think it is pertinent to the post but all it does is encourage other members to post. Whereas if they posted in correct place i.e. here - the discussion thread; it could be discussed.

    <big sigh>

I have sent a pm to the latest person to chat on codes, in the hope they will direct their question here. <even bigger sigh>

    Agreed.

While we're on the subject of these kinds of posts...

is there really any point to posts saying people have returned two tickets to their local cinema?
From experience, they tend to over-allocate anyway so are two returns going to necessarily mean 2 openings at the cinema.

Moving onto better news...my movie mover and shaker friend has invited me to a sneak preview of Wall Street 2, (aka Money Never Sleeps).

Can't wait for it and...can't wait for dinner as I havent eaten since breakfast.

    lunch is for wimps ;)
  • Thanks for posting Russian Standard Vodka link, finally sat down and watched Shawshank Redemption. Enjoyed the vodka too!
  • Will be attempting to do it all, i'm a huuuge LOST fan, it's going to be an experience plus saves me £100+ on buying the boxset.

I say it's going to be full of students [i'm one of them], die-hard fans and a mixture of people that never watched an episode of LOST.

Surely you will miss some episodes through sleep?

Yup they should review that rating - compared to some things which are PG & 12 nowadays, Gremlins is fairly mild. May not be suitable for younger kids, but it should at least be recalssified as a 12 (i think gremlins 2 was a 12 aswell) Classic film :)

btw. To Kill a Mockingbird & 12 Angry Men are all time classics & ones that the film club should definately show! lots of discussion material there.

Great suggestions. I've only ever seen part of these two films. So whilley, if you show them, can I sneak in to see them please?:p

    Gremlins 2 is indeed a 12...it's ridiculous!

Pooch you are more than welcome to join us...Lincoln is a bit of a way of Liverpool but as you've never been I could get some of my kids to show you the sights :rotfl: !

(just re-read that and feel I must explain I ment my filmclub kids not my personal kids! 'Some of my kids' implies I have a whole herd of them...the two I have do feel like a herd sometimes tho!:rotfl:)

erm I dont remember them....I do remember the swearing and the full frontal nude scene tho.. cannot for the life of me recall any explicit oral sex scenes???

Perhaps another viewing is in order?!

It's a scene involving Mary Cohen and a Roman soldier...
  • Hello!

I am new to the whole 'seefilmsfirst' experience and was wondering if some kind soul on here can give me an idea of what to expect. I have just used one of the codes on the 'free theatre tickets' forum to get 2 tickets to see Design For Living at the Old Vic in London. I hate to be cynical, but is this for real? These tickets are really expensive to buy, and it seems a bit too good to be true - do you think? Has anyone else actually been to one of the 'freebie' theatre shows? I'd be really grateful for any first-hand advice/experience! Thank you! :D

    Hey alice:p

I've got those tickets too and like you am seriously impressed they are giving them away free :j

One of my school friends is a set designer for the production and even they were surprised tickets were being given away on a Saturday night performance.

    Some tips:

    1. You are not guaranteed a ticket. It says on the e-ticket

"Please bring suitable identification with you
Seefilmfirst vouchers should be exchanged for allocated seating tickets at the box office between 6.45 and 7.15pm on day of performance"

    2. Expect bad seats. You may get good ones but better to expect bad ones!

    3. The production is THREE hours long including the break....so don;t go in hungry

    DOnt forget that I.D.!

Might see you there (i look like a cross between brad pitt and tom cruise)
  • Thanks Cineman - great advice! Even if we end up 'in the gods', it will still be a great cheap night out. Have a wonderful night - we'll be on the lookout for the A-list lookeylikey:beer:!

    It is for real!!

Normally with Theatre/Concert tickets you exchange them at the Box Office for real tickets, I've never had a problem including for 2 concerts at the O2, one with seats next to the stage, the others weren't so great, but hey they are free and there are people sitting all around you who have paid for those same seats!!.

Just get there on time and you should get in fine, they don't always ask for ID, but make sure you have some just in case.

Hope you have a good night!! :)
