You have applied for tickets to see Law Abiding Citizen
On 17 November 2009 at 6:30 PM
Anyone willing to swap 2 tickets for an earlier showing in Manchester please?
We go away to Las Vegas on 15th November so the ones we have are kinda useless.0 -
Just back from seeing Law Abiding Citizen another very violent but very good film. There are some gory and disturbing scenes, so be aware if your like me and you have to cover your eyes. It's a good action thriller story. Great performances from the gorgeous Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx. I wasn't really sure who the good guy was in this film. as you start off having sympathy for one and then the other. You will see what I mean when you see it, and it is definately worth a look. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0

What a fabulous film this was. The 3D animation wasn't overdone and the majority of the animated characters looked like the actors voicing them. I didn't 'hear' Jim Carrey as Scrooge though. To me it sounded more like Richard Wilson. To me as an adult it was a dark gloomy film to look at and of course, so was the story in the main part, although there is some humour at which both adults and children in the audience laughed at.
The lady who took my spare places brought her two children - a 7 year old girl and 5 year old boy who for the most part loved the film although there were a couple of times when mum thought she might have to take them out. However, they braved it out and from the way they chattered about it all the way home, I think they are glad they stayed.
We got a lovely surprise when we got into the screenroom as Morrisons were sponsoring the event and there was a goody bag on each seat. A Morrisons bag for life containing a bottle of still water, a bar of chocolate (I got milk chocolate and my friends daughter got white chocolate, not sure if there were any other varieties given) and a bag of Humbugs (how apt). Sadly, although the cinema were expecting a full house it was far from full. Such a shame as the people who couldn't be bothered missed a great night's entertainment and I think that Morrison's, Radio City and Disney deserved better. The weather wasn't that bad!
My only gripe was that we were told that the film started at 7pm so we got there well before. But the cinema had it scheduled for an 8pm start with it actually starting at 8.10pm meaning that it finished at 9.40pm and you then have to factor in travelling time home. All rather late for little ones on a school night. But that aside, I highly recommend this film and Morrison's bars of chocolate too :-) :j0 -

Went to see Harry Brown the other day and while I enjoyed the film the experience was somewhat marred by the disorganised and frankly stupid staff at the Glasgow East Showcase cinema. They tried to charge people to get in to a free showing then the Manager who was a geeky young man clearly lacking in people skills, kept referring to a local magazine showing even though he was repeatedly told by the man showing him the pass that it was nothing to do with said magazine.
They then had to get people out of the cinema to give them refunds.
Very poor performance and having been to events in the Odeon at the Quay, Glasgow Film Theatre, Braehead X-scape Odeon and Cineworld Glasgow this was the worst staff ever. One little creep behind the counter even asked his colleague "Should we phone the police". even though everyone was standing quietly waiting for the manager to get clearance from the area manager. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. What a dreaful experience for you all. It's not unusual that newish staff don't understand the procedure but they normally find a member of staff - a team leader, who does. but to make people pay!! That's just appalling. And then the threat of the Police! That would have been funny to see the face of the idiot manager when they told him that the members of public were correct. Normally the one person in the know is the projectionist.
I hope you will take this matter further. Either contact Customer Services and/or the Area Manager. Staff training is needed if nothing else. Failing that ask Mr H. Brown to look into it for you ;-)
The problem on the forums is that the vast majority of people don't say where they found the code. It may well be that one or more of the codes came from a magazine. I have a feeling that Heat printed one code.0 -
I know I've asked this before, but I've forgotten the answer - how do you return tickets to momentum? Obviously for SFF it's pretty straightforward, but for momentum - not so apparent! Thanks.0

Actually what I did do was put the story of whole sorry incident in the any other comments box of the Survey e-mailed to me after the film. May give seeing any films paying or not at that cinema a miss too.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Good idea but I don't know if that feedback will find it's way back to the cinema. If this had happened to me I would contact Customer Services too. What happens if SFF continue to use that particular cinema for previews in the future. Would you go? Would this behaviour happen again?0
