Hi BTD - think everyone finds January such a hard time as it seems sooooo long waiting for the next salary.

We have the heating on a thermostat - is that a bad thing??

Glad your £40 is still intact - really well done you!

IMD - normally heating on continuously - very bad thing from a bill perspective - right now where we live it was -12 last night and even coming home tonight it was -9.5 so I think the heating can be deemed a necessary expense this month

SH - definitely an expense you can justify, just wondered whether I should keep heating on all night to avoid frozen pipes, may leave them on tonight just in case!

  • Hi BTD and Happy 2010. Just catching up on my fave diaries now DSs are finally back to school. Yours I like because you are human and falliable!

So don't worry too much about what you spent on the perfume and lunch, but def resolve not to do it again or it will set you back - you don't want to struggle at the end of the month, so maybe try to enjoy the feeling of being strong in the face of temptation, set yourself a challenge to make that £30 back somehow, etc.

One of my favourite quotes is by Kate Moss (unlikely I know) about weight, but I think it applies equally to all things MSE and debt busting - "nothing tastes as good as thin feels".

Well as the snow starts to thaw i decided to do spring cleaning! And in a house which i consider clean anyway i had three bags of rubbish old paperwork etc and used lots of bleach!!:D Its so true tidy house tidy mind!
I have also been on my paperwork case i had a refund from next for flowers which i had delivered for a friends b day result they were very dissapointing i nearly cried when i saw them!
I had £7.50 refunded to my bank from studio as it was sitting in credit and i was not going to buy something for the sake of it!! Shopped around for two books i wanted and got them both £3 cheaper!:D
Also started moisturising and sorting my feet for summer!!! Oh and been on wii fit did 2020 steps and 10 mins jogging!:D
    Very productive day!
    See you all soon
