Hi, well as the title says I have paid for a holiday and now I am skint! I don't regret it as my son is at the age where he is going out with friends so I want to make as many family memories as possible! I am still paying off debt but I am not going to overpay I am just sticking to the scenic route! Should I be having holidays whilst in debt? Maybe not but I am!
I am always mindful of how I spend money and now I have an empty pot I am more motivated to refill it
I had my crash in 2009 and I always knew it would be a long journey, I will pay off all debt which was £52k now around 28k.
The good news is that no new clothes are needed for hols for nay of us!!
Thank you for reading.0 -
:eek:Even though I have been money saving since my lbm in 2009 it's only now that I have been separating cash in different e accounts for vets, car, hair and beauty, dentist, Christmas and wood.
The dog needed tabs wed, bing money there! Ds needed hair cut today, bing money there! It's so worth doing! I am still building up so some e accounts now empty eg car and mot as I used this "pot" last month but bing the money was there!:j
Happy days!
In other news. Holidays paid for all clothes ready. Just need to save spending money.
Have to renew passports for me and dh £145:eek: apart from that all ready.
£60 left until pay day but food shop done bills paid and petrol bought!
Have a good weekend allx

Hello beat the debt,
I saw your comment on someone else's diary, something about running your home like a business, and thought I like that, so I'm reading your VERY LONG diary. So many gems for someone like me who has a long way to go. I also really like your positivity (something I lack sometimes, I can be a moaner...) I also appreciate that you still manage to have a really nice, happy time whilst still going ninja on the debt front. I'm on page 9....:DIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Aw thank you doing it anyway
it is long like my journey 2009 I had my wake up call. It's instilled in me now to save and watch what I am spending. The little things add up. I never go out to a rugby or football game with ds without a sandwich snacks and drinks. Drinks cost a fortune out! We are going to Snowdonia soon and I will be taking loads of drinks and buying lots of food for picnics
. It really is worth investing in a cool bag or box and picnic boxes and flasks. If I forget something and we have to buy it I pit it on the list for next time
.. I have lists for caravan hols hotel hols winter days out summer days out theme park days out sports events ..... I like lists!!:rotfl:
