If you haven't already then you could look at hotels on:
http://www.asiahotels.com/hl/Malaysia.asp
and
http://www.asiatravel.com/
to see if you can get them cheaper.
Hotel rooms are usually sold perroompernight rather than per person, on these sites anyway. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
Is this just a plan or have you already booked the flight and hotels?
For hotels, quite often they have offers for Malaysian citizens costing a lot less. Maybe if you know someone locally, you can ask them for a favour.0 -
i have not booked anything yet. just getting quotes from diff places.
i wish i did know someone in malaysia0 -
I'd get it rechecked today as Malaysia Airlines just introduced a special which may bring the cost down. I just prices it using a better hotel in Kuala Lumpur and it came to around £1,300 including transfers. So check again.
You 100% sure you want to spend 7 days in KL? Why not spend 3 of those in Penang or Cameron Highlands?0 -
i don't mind sharing the 7days in kl with penang but i need to keep the price down to about 1400 per person
where did u get the better qoute from moonchild?0 -

Depends on the passport you are holding. I would also look at Malaysian airlines as they add on holidays you can take. Another on would be Singapore airlines. They package deals together. The other airline I would check out is Cathay Pacific - again they also have good packages.. but maybe I am a bit biased as I live in Hong Kong and Cathay is our airline.
I have several trips booked with Cathay over the next six months and Penang is one of them in October. First rate airline... check online - I book all mine online with them. Happy Hols!0 -
We went to malaysia wityh malaysian airlines for 399 per person.
I dont wish to be "funny" but are you muslim? I say this as displays of affection are not encouraged, we didnt realised and wondered why we were getting spat/ hissed at for holding hands. We are a white UK couple. Also to note that ( in case you didnt know) dont show any chest, cleavage, arms or legs again this will invite a lot of negative attention and can be rather scary. Sorry if you know this already but we didnt, and we were so pleased we hadnt got there for our honeymoon as it was so awkward in terms of affection/ handholding/ being unclothed on the beach in western swimwear etc. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Hi lyn - were you asking me if I was muslim? No, Im not - I'm an English woman (caucasian) living in Hong Kong for many years now.
I am somewhat surprised however, at you being hissed and spat at for holding hands on a beach!!!!!!!!!!!! I must have been to Penang about a dozen times now and I always hold hubbys hand, and wear a bikini. I have never experienced this, ever.
However, I would NEVER go out in a sleeveless t-shirt onto the streets as the locals still gawk at you - even an old bird like me, lol.
The only places I have ever felt uncomfortable in Malaysia were in the 'towns' of Kota Kinabalu and Langkawi - leery, letchy men seem to be everywhere. I was dressed in cotton trousers and a long sleeved cotton shirt - with another vest t-shirt underneath so that they couldn't see my bra. lol!
Then again, here in Hong Kong - if you so much as show a nipple through a shirt on the train its like the carriage of a thousand eyes!!!0
