    Morning all :D
Long time since I have said hello......life gets in the way of livig sometimes - so busy!!!

Can anyone help with a problem I have, I went on holiday and unfortunately had to buy a (peter storm) rain coat, really nice with fleece inside, however, as it rained I can only assume the dye from my leather handbag has gone onto the light pink bit of my jacket....any ideas how I can get the dye out without damaging my very new waterproof coat???

    Morning peeps

the weather here is a bit unsettled atm, bit dark and the occasional hint of sun breaking through so i`ve taken a chance and put the washing out. Our kitchen is on the opposite side of the house to our neighbours and the washing machine is the quietest that we have ever had - 8 years old and still can hardly be heard. Some of our past machines have been like concord taking off noisewise but this one is almost silent - we are on economy 7 for electricity so it always goes on at night :D

Happy Birthday Kathy :bdaycake: hope that the weather is nice and that you enjoy your picnic, leave the ironing for another day :naughty: shouldn`t be doing that today.

I woke at half past two this morning  made a huge pan of liver and bacon pate, sorted out the kitchen and then went back to bed :rotfl: strangely i seem to waking up at the same time every day so i hope that i soon get this out of my system.

Plans today are call at the bank, tidy up, work my way through a pile of ironing and do some baking. I also need to sort some household accounts and other odds and ends.

Tru - Penny looks lovely, congrats on the first egg.:j

Both houdlets are staring at me so i guess it`s time for me to put my shoes on a nd take them out, catch up later guys.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Both sons have left for school. I shall take dd to school in about 15 mins (7 min walk). It costs £8 for both boys to catch the bus to school and back each week. It would be cheaper to drive them. I think that's disgraceful! They will continue to use the bus because I believe it is good for them to make their own way to school and it means there is one less car clogging up Worcester roads during the rush hour but it is annoying that it costs so much.
Bus fares to school annoy me too, it costs about £9 a week for my DD to get to school & back. We're just under the mileage limit for her to get a free bus and as she's 15 she has to pay adult fare.

Our local authority has a scheme where they can get a bus pass that allows them to pay child half-fare but only after school, weekends & school holidays. It seems daft to me, surely it would be better if the pass was for school-times.

    Happy Birthday Mioliere.

I haven't posted for a week, as been away. Butlins was great (apart from the acoomodation which was dire :o), and we had 2 days in legoland tagged on the end, with a £9 travelodge room. Kids had a whale of a time!

Anyway, back to school today, and both my 2 were extremely nervous as they were starting new schools. DS has gone up to secondary school, and DD is starting a new primary school in year 6, as we moved and its more local to us. DS cycled, and I walked DD, who will cycle, but wasn't too sure of the way! Also, I have to pick her up at 2.30 today for an othodontist appointment, so there wasn't much point her cycling today.

She is having head gear fitted today for her brace, so thats a bit scary. Not sure what it entails, but she was reassured she only has to wear it in bed, and not all day, so thats something!

Plans for today - tidying, tesco, picking up parcel from the sorting office, deciding what to make for tea etc etc!

Have a good day all, and good luck to all new school starters.

Doesn't your local education authority do subsidised bus passes for schoolchildren? Ours do. My kids both walk to school but a lot of their friends get the bus, and apparently the pass is (a) much cheaper than the basic return fare x 5 and (b) they can use it the rest of the week too, not just on the school run.

My banana loaves are looking a bit suspect, have to say. Oh well...I need to provide some home baking for the rugby club on Sunday anyway, so if my lot don't like banana loaf I'll freeze it and send it in sliced and buttered for the starving mob of 13 year old rugby players to have instead. Do you think it would be best to freeze it sliced or unsliced?

They do, but it works out more expensive:confused: The fare on the school service is £1 return but you can buy a week's pass on Monday for £4.

Anyway, I'm back from my trip to Waitrose -managed to spend more than intended again:rolleyes: but have a few bargains and have stocked up od a few things. I'm just having a coffee then I'll put it all away -I really like doing that:o:D I know- I'm getting sadder and sadder.

Then I'll put my food processor to working chopping celery, leeks, onions, garlic, carrots and peppers for my freezer hash.

I'm going to make some chocolate biscuit cake/tiffin/refrigerator cake call it what you will as a treat for the lunch boxes (small squares).
