Busy morning this morning,I have to pick my dgd up and drop her off to work as her Mum is doing the school run, then a bit of shopping ,(hopefully not a lot as I'm on the GC at the moment )then library books returned and some snail mail to catch up on .Must make a lasagne as I have my friend coming tomorrow for lunch and I think I will make a creme caramel as a treat for us for pudding. I have the washing machine on atm so hopefully it will stay dry enough for a blow on the line .Hope everyone has a great Monday and manages to catch up on things .

I dealt with some spotty (and worse!) bananas yesterday Val! trouble is result is too nice.

I see I managed to get to sleep just a little while before the thread was started. DOn't know how much OS will happen. Got to take shirts back to outlet village, from gap were OK and the ones from Monsoon not. MIL and DD willl accompany. Was going to go this morning, but forgot that I need to wait in for a signed for parcel. It's my sewing at home job that I do occasionally. I can start tonight if I'm here when it arrives. Need the ££, DD offf to Uni at the end of the month:eek:.

A load of Student Union things arrived the other day. Apart from the massive drain on the bank account for her accommodation at the beginning of October, they want £42 for Freshers Week. :rotfl: Assuring her of course that it is good value.

Need to work out how much allowance she is going to need each week. Is there anyone able to offer advice? She is living in halls and is self catering. It's a campus uni, so doesn't need to travel there. Info so far is from two people, one gives £45 per week( Liverpool) , the other £90 (Durham I think)! That's too much of a difference to work out what is right for dd.

Got 2 loads of washing to hang, but not sure where it will all go, as there's still some from yesterday up. Maybe it's dry by now.

Meals...dh has a couple of nights away so just me and the kids. We have lots of food in the house.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning,

    Kathy Happy Birthday foryou.gif

I have a little man starting school today too. He's very excited and I hope that he likes it as much as he thinks he will. He's told me to make sure not to forget his lunch (he's a lot like his father :rotfl:).

Best be away and make it then.

    Take care all of you

    Morning all :)

Well, it's Monday morning and today we are going to be getting into learning mode following the long summer break.

I was up just before 6, sorting out what DDs will be doing today [I really should get back into the habit of sorting it the night before!].

I'm not going to get them up until 9, and hopefully wont have any resistance, although I can imagine that they will still be in a 'holiday' frame of mind rather than an educational one!

DDs will be helping to make fishcakes and pizza later, and we need to get the washing machine going, but other than that, it's going to be a pretty easy day really.

Happy birthday mioliere and valk_scot's DS. The time really does fly, and my own DD will be a teenager soon enough

  • _party_Happy Birthday_party_ Kathy :bdaycake: May this year be full of love, laughter and serenity for you. And Happy Birthday to your _party_DS1_party_ also.

_party_Happy Birthday_party_ to Valk_Scot's son:bdaycake: The teenage years are an adventure in beginning to learn who you are for sure. May it be smooth sailing for him, and you. :)

Good morning everyone. I hope you've had a good weekend. I've not managed to catch up on the past couple of days threads and will read them after posting here. We had a nice day yesterday, one of those that you don't do too much but just enjoy being.

DH starts work at the new base today. It ought to be interesting as they've combined 2 bases and it's at least half hour from where we live. After checking in there, they will then return to where we live for work. A bit of an insane plan me thinks, we'll see how it goes though.

Today's plans include laundry, a trip to the grocery store <groan> and a few odds and ends that need doing. Hopefully I'll get some baking done this afternoon. If not, it can go on tomorrow's list.

Hope everyone has a good day. Lots of (((((((((GentleHugs)))))))))) to all who want/need one.

    Peyton xx

    Morning :)

Happy Birthday Mioliere, have a great day

Got up at 3.30am this morning, went back to bed at 6am and then overslept. Luckily daughter is pretty independant and got herself dressed and had breakfast (also fed her brother), just packed her off to school.

Hopefully gonna get a tip run done this morning and will pop in tesco on the way back to get some more lamb as it goes off offer today.

Was quite industrious last night. I stripped the rest of the meat off the lamb bone, boiled the bone up,made the shepherds pie for tuesday dinner, i had enough mash leftover to use up some cooked salmon in the fridge, made 8 mini fishcakes, my youngest will have some for lunch and the rest went in the freezer.

We're having shedded lamb in flatbreads (homemade and gluten free) with rice for dinner.

Thank you all so much for my birthday wishes! I'm having a lazy start to the day but the ironing is looking at me, so I'll spend half my birthday doing that.

Valk-Scot - Happy Birthday to your DS - I wish it was my thirteenth today!

Tru - lovely chicken and lovely egg!

Cranky - good luck to your DS with starting school - a big day for him and you!

Haven't thought about OSing yet today, although the WM is on.

    See you all later.

Both sons have left for school. I shall take dd to school in about 15 mins (7 min walk). It costs £8 for both boys to catch the bus to school and back each week. It would be cheaper to drive them. I think that's disgraceful! They will continue to use the bus because I believe it is good for them to make their own way to school and it means there is one less car clogging up Worcester roads during the rush hour but it is annoying that it costs so much.

As soon as I'm back from the school run I shall be off to Waitrose with my list. I'm looking forward to it -peace and quiet. Sad aren't I?:D

Lunchboxes today have ham sandwiches on granary bread, a piece of cheese, dried apricots, a raisin-oatmeal muffin and carrot sticks. Water to drink.

Supper is going to be Swedish meatballs and rice or mash plus veg. I'm actually following a recipe today from Roast Figs, Sugar Snow by Diana Henry. They're supposed to be served with cranberry or lingonberry sauce but we're having them with redcurrant jelly (hm of course).

I've just hung out the washing but it is looking decidedly damp.

I'm planning on making a big batch of my freezer veg hash later as I'm running low.

    Have a productive day all;)

I don't think I would quite wish for thirteen mioliere. I wouldn't mind being 21 again though :D
