  • I am a couple of weeks from the end of my current T-mobile contract and am looking to get a new phone. I am not happy with the phone range I have been offered by T-mobile (via the online MyT-mobile upgrade service) or the excessive price they want for some of the better handsets (based on fact that they cost three times more than what a new customer gets).

I have been looking around and have been impressed by THREE and there straight forward approach to pricing. However, I have been told by friends that they are not the best (re: coverage and customer service).

Can anyone give me more details about THREE?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Personally, I have never had any problem with "3". If you look at these pages then some people have problems with all the networks.
I believe that "3" have teamed up with T-Mobile to improve their service so perhaps you will get the benefit of T-Mobiles network and "3"'s price plans.
Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
  • I have just tried to negotiate a better contract with 3.I am just coming to the end of a 12 month contract at £35 a month, which was supposed to be returned through cashback, but like many others the company i was with went into liquidation.Any way i spoke to 3 and said that i wanted to leave unless i was offered a better priced contract, but like many others all i was offered were the tariffs readily available on most websites. So i have asked for my PAC number and that was it.Anybody know of any good deals without cashback for a light user on about 100 mins and 50 texts.

T Mobile's bad around here (London!) with dropping calls and calls going straight to voicemail. OH is considering 3 as he's out of contract now and sick of the dropped calls. However are 3 using T Mobile's network as then there would be no point. Sorry, am sure that the info is here somewhere but it runs to 44 pages now! thanks.

No, they have their own. They might fall back to T-mobile if a 3G signal is not available though. The best thing to do is to find someone on Three in the areas you most want to use the phone.

"They called back last night, this time spoke to my dad (i wasn't around to take the call - office xmas party) and said that as a long standing loyal customer they would offer 500mins, 100 texts plus a new Nokia 6288 all for £5/month for life

Obviously, a very good deal. However, i going to reserve judgement and wait for the first bill. I've read on this forum that there have been instances where 3 will offer a good deal on over the phone but then revert you to an "ordinary" deal and deny all knowledge of their offer.

Will keep you posted of developments. But on the face of it, seems as though 3 are willing to offer very good deals in order to keep customers. BTW the new phone arrived this morning![/quote]"

Hi thats sounds very good. Was that x net, any time minutes?

Well I have until july on my 3 mobile, but now I am no longer self employed I do not need the number of minutes, and want to drop the tariff. they dropped it down to £30 this month and will drop by a further £5 next month. So am I right thinking that they would charge me for the remaining months @ £25 pcm if i cancelled now? I think i would be better cancelling outright and getting one of the mega cheap contracts. Are they still offering people £5 a month? I do need a camera phone for my job as I am a merchandiser I have to send photos to head office.

I phoned them and would have had to pay £200 quid to cancel. How long did you have to go on your contract?
