I recently switched to Three from Vodafone. I use the service mainly for texts and internet. So far, I can honestly say I've found the service to be excellent. Fast web access from all the urban areas I've visited in Scotland. No major issues.
I've even managed to get decent internet usage in small rural towns.
I've been to a few green-field sites, and not got coverage however, though it didn't bother me much as overall Im very happy with the service in urban areas.

I have been with Three for around 6-8 years, over the years. You would think that they value customer loyalty.
My phone was stolen the other day. I was at the end of my contract anyway. I agreed to an upgrade. A Samsung Pocket for £11 per month. They were excitedly telling me about the bells and whistles -I said I dont care about the minutes and texts as I am a low user. They then sent me today a Samsung Galaxy Ace for £13 per month! I know its only £2 difference but when you are on a very limited income, every pound is crucial! AND they told me they'd charged me £4.99 for delivery! Cheeky! I hadn't been told that at all!!! I phoned them up.. got through to Escalations... and wow, they were so unhelpful!!!!! Boy oh boy. They had 'no record' of that conversation!!!!!
Then at the end of the call, he had the gall to say 'Thank you for choosing Three'. Ha!!!! I said 'I'm NOT choosing Three! Goodbye!'
Wow. You would think they would want to hold onto you. Previous post was right, its about customer service. Thinking of moving to 02.0 -
I was with Three for two years. Had no problems. However, it annoyed me when it came to upgrade that my offers online were the same as those for new customers. I found a deal with O2 and decided to switch.
I phoned Three to cancel, the rep said "well to get our best upgrade deals you have to phone us". I am part of "generation y" - I grew up with the internet and prefer to do things online and just click a button, rather than phone a rip off premium rate number and have someone try and sell me stuff I don't need for 10 minutes.
So, me - "I'd like to cancel please" - clear enough, right? Apparently not, as the rep kept trying to get me to stay with Three, and each time I repeated, "no thanks, I would really just like to cancel today". I spent 15 minutes on that phone call. Really frustrating, felt like screaming "I just WANT TO CANCEL!"0 -
I'm having problems with 3 so any advice is useful.
Back in November I moved house, into what used to be a business, but has now been split in two, part domestic and part business. The address on their system is showing as 53-55, but the domestic part is now only 53. So, as I can't update my details online, I rang their customer service and they can't do anything about it either. I've now emailed them to get it changed to see if that works.
Other companies that I tried to change address online also had it listed as 53-55, but after ringing them, they were able to change it to just 53, so why can't 3?
If I am unable to alter my address, surely the contract wont be valid, so could I now cancel it without incurring a fee, as it is them who cannot update my details?0 -
I have been with Three now for 3 1/2 years. Joined when they launched the iPhone 3GS and then upgraded to the iPhone 4. I'm on a £35 p/m 'The One Plan' as it gives me truly unlimited data and thats what I really care about as I use Spotify. I also get about 2000 minutes (don't even use half) and 5000 texts (which i don't really use because of iMessage and Facebook/Twitter). I'm thinking of dropping to a SIM-only deal when my contract is up in May as I don't really need a new phone.
I've had no major issues with them over the past 3 years, except for a data outage (in the area) a few months ago which lasted for a number of days. I also converted my housemate to 3 a few years ago and he was convinced he would leave them when his contract was up as he called them a 'cowboy operation'. He upgraded to an iPhone 5 a few months ago with them as it was the cheapest deal, and if you don't have to contact them its fine, but their CS is pretty bad.0 -

I had two contracts with Three and wanted to cancel one because I no longer used it. It was not straight forward.
The rep kept pushing me into accepting a SIM-only deal, even after i explained that I had another contract with 3 that I use. He was very persistent. I know its their job, but it was really bad. I took me 30mins on the phone for him to finally process my request.
I complained to Three about it.0 -
