3 is the cheapest, but is it best

Got a sim only for my iPhone after not using three since they were set up. Quite impressed with the coverage, sure it's not as good as other networks but i use ALOT of data when travelling about (2gb so far this month) and to know I'm not being charged extra is great :-)0

I was on a 30 day sim only contract with 3 just recently. £15 for 300mins, 300 texts and 1GB data allowance.
Most commonly used location: Plymouth, Ivybridge
3 are turning off 2G fall back in many parts of South West and Plymouth is one of them. I was often left without a signal during my 20 days with the company. After missing several important phone calls (due to no signal), I told 3 where to go and switched to T-Mobile/Orange.
On a positive note, data transfer speeds are excellent. 25p a minute for 08xx numbers is a bit excessive and that was another reason for switching to a different network.0 -
I have been with 3 since November 2010. Prior to a couple of weeks there was no problem with my phone and network but the signal was fading away gradually and now i have non inside my house and only a bar outside. I have been on the phone and on the online chat support (the two Jamses there are great guys) but every time i speak to someone they tell me to raise a claim and wait for 72 hours for someone to call me (are they having a joke? I don't get signal, maybe they'll call on my son's toy phone)
I run my business from home and my son goes to school. God forbids something happens to him, how the school is going to get to me? Never mind losing business opportunities because i don't answer my phone.
Really frustrated and the issue is not being dealt with.0 -
Hi all,
I moved to the Hove area of East sussex in April. Since then I have had virtually no signal in my workplace or home address. I have tried numerous calls to 333 and visits to the stores. But I am making no progress. I just need to cancel the contract and move supplier.
But the agents on 333 are telling me I have to pay a £250 fee to terminate my contract before my minimum contract is served. Does anyone know are they legally entitled to enforce this fee in the situation where they are not providing the service? In my view they are in breach of their contract with me, but I am not a lawyer.
Secondly, could I simply tell them that I am cancelling my direct debit because they won't resolve the situation? Or will they screw up my credit history?
Any stories of successful contract termination based on network failure would be most interesting.
thanks0 -

Well cancelling your direct debit will screw up your credit if you dont pay the bills!
I got out of my contract with Three, of course I had to continue paying the bills until it was resolved but I was on a cheap contract and did use the phone. I found using the contact form on the website, refusing to speak to their call centre in India who just want to sell you add ons and genrally being stubborn got me an email from a manager at their Scotland office who waived the termination fee - this went on for more than 6 months so really it was in their interest to sort it out because it would have gone to Otelo - Keep pushing, they are difficult but you are paying for a service that they are not providing.
Before anyone jumps at me and says 'you have to check before you take out the contract' - Keep pushing it because I got mine cancelled on the grounds that I had a rubbish service (after they apparently upgraded the network)0 -
Handset: iPhone 4
Area's of country mostly used: Stirling - Central Scotland
Review: Having joined Three (3) a few weeks ago I can honestly say the service so far has been fantastic, network quality has been exceptional, I receive a fantastic 3G signal in all locations in and around the Stirling area. I moved to Three (3) from Vodafone and have noted that Three (3) certainly has invested in its network.
I'm on a price plan called "The One Plan" it gives you a fantastic amount of minutes, texts and the best bit of all completely unlimited internet, they call it "All you can eat internet" Three (3) also allow customers on "The One Plan" to thethering their mobile phone to their laptop / computer for no extra charge!!!
Score: 10/10 - Highly Recommended!

matrix999, you can go for a cheaper tariff and tether on an Android phone - 3 can't stop you!0

3 is stripping back its 2G network so expect more "no signal" areas!0

from personal experience along with friends and family who have tried 3 none of them would ever go back.
it is true they are turning off 2g coverage where they 'think' 3g coverage is excellent but as i found out the hard way this is more than often not the case.
i brought out my contract after getting so fed up with the patchy coverage and having a next to useless phone.
add to this the fact they do unlimited data so every one will be tethering and downloading huge amounts of data so at peak times their network grinds to a halt so even basic web browsing is a chore.0
