• I appear to be a rare creature. I signed up with 3 last year - got a Samsung L760 (aka, Ted Baker Button). Contract £15 pm, 300 minutes or text. Coverage better than my last phone with TMobile. I'm saving £10 pm on the 3 contract. No problems with the functioning of my phone, no dropped calls, no difficulties at all.

I've even called their customer services department and all calls have ended satisfactorily - all queries have been answered correctly first time, and all requests actioned at the time of making the request.

you dont work for 3 do ya?

While I was with them they were nothing short of shoddy and disgraceful and overpriced. £35 for nokia 96 with 300 minutes and use of the web ( I was a high spender and was offered a poor deal that anyone else could get). Signed up with T-Mobile £36 over a thousand minutes and web n walk. Now I admit 1000 minutes is a lot but 300 was not enough. Me and my partner and my father left last month and it was the best thing we ever did.

Customer services were argumentative rude and hard to understand. Messed about over my PAC, over itemised billing, over per minute billing and over a text add-on. Never ever again!

No, I don't work for 3. I just thought I'd put my experience with them.

I moved over to them partly because of the poor coverage I was getting with T Mobile, but mainly because I was wasting a lot of money on their cheapest contract by barely using a third of my monthly call and text allowance.

I had a phonecall once from them to ask about my contract, explained i already had a contract with them and they said "oh we can do you this excellent deal" and throughout i kept asking, how does this affect my current contract? Advised there would be no problems and would recieve phone in a few days.

Next month 2 bills appeared and i realised they had sold me ANOTHER contract on my current one, wrote a huge letter of complaint, they advised if i sent the new phone back they would cancel it, but i was a bit miffed, as i explained i had already got rid of the old phone. Finally ended up paying off the remainder few months.

Popped into a 3 store and all i got was "Oh its done by a third party and we have no control"

As soon as my contract ends i'm off. Fed up phoning the middle of Asia and with a thick scottish accent like mine, it often takes 4 times as long

the trick with 3 is to never agree to their first offer. Get your pac code off them and wait a few days... you'll get a call off them saying how they have noticed your pac code hasnt been used to transfer you to another network.

I just did this and got a good deal. 500 x-net mins or texts, 300 x 3to3 mins and a nokia 6500 slide, for a tenner a month inc vat :D

These phones sell for around £80+ new on ebay, so Im even thinking about selling it and reducing my bill be even more.

With the credit crunch, the days of me being bothered about wanting a fancy phone are long gone. This free phone can surf the net, take pics, listen to music and text and make calls. What more do you want?

Whilst 3 have one of the best networks, their customer service is one of the worst ever, so its nice to get one over on them!

• 3 doesn't seem to be getting much of a vote of confidence from people who use it:

• Our family have all got 3 mobiles - 4 in all. While I am happy with the price we are paying for 3 of the contracts my son was ripped off with his and is tied in for 18 months. The main problem we have had is being charged extra for loading games from the internet wich we haven't done. These extra charges keep appearing on the bills and when we query them we are told we have done downloads, which we definatelt haven't. After an eternity on the phone trying to explain this they say they will look into it and get back to us, but they never do. We then have to phone them again and they then insist that we have done the downloads and refuse to cancel the charge. The most recent time we asked to speak to a supervisor but were refused this, we emailed a complaint but had no reply. i just can't wait for our contracts to finish, unfortunately we are only a few months into the 18 month contracts but no matter what the great deal we are offered, there is no way we will be renewing
• You should email the Exec. office and complain to them make sure you put Hutchison 3g complaint in the subject bow with your mobile number.
Their email address is kevin.russell@three.co.uk
I was having network problems as they had switched off o2 as their back up network on 24th july 2008 and they have offered to cancel the contract free of charge or if i want to stay i can have my 500 minutes a month for £10 instead of £15 a month and they have refunded the past three months as well so there is light at the end of the tunnel just keep at them its useless calling the call centre your better off going direct to the executive office.
• We havent got a contract phone but a phone we bought in Argos about 2 years ago-a Z something or other. The sim is GLUED in. This is a pain for many reasons. First phone the sim screwed up and Argos sent it off for repair/replacement. Came back with new sim or a new phone-not sure which as it was almost new anyway-lost all music and photos as a result.
Next phone has lasted about 18 months or so. Lots of photos on it-no means of transferring them Topped up with £20 then next day the soun went(cant hear who you are talking to but they hear you) and the screen has a boig mark across so cant read anything on it. Cant save sim and transfer to another phone as its glued in-who ever wants a phone on the 3 network let alone buy another to put the sim in! So phone busted and sim as good as useless with £20 on. Tried sending the photos to another phone in email but it wouldnt do that either even tho it should. Not at all impressed. Same price got nice little samsung on virgin and unlocked it-mp3 bluetooth camera etc-ok-I dont like 3!
I seem to think we do have another 3 network phone somehwere still if I can get the gluedin sim out?????
Anyone know a way of doing this without damage?
