I too am having a problem with three. I have been with three for approx 3 years now. A couple of months ago I took out a new contract with them(new sim). Since then I can not get any network coverage at my work. I was able to get it there before and there are other people at my work on three with good reception. So I contact three through live chat on there website. After trying to explain to 4 different operators, conclusion they came to was that as three do not use their own transmitters they now use only Orange signal on new contract and are phasing out O2 signals on existing contracts. Where I work there is no Network coverage for orange. So I am stuck in an 18 month contract with no reception at all monday to friday, 9-5!! Surely they are not offering me a reasonable service in compliance with my contract???0

I am the same at home - no orange or three but full o2. I can only receive calls and texts if I leave the phone by a window. Only 12 more months to go!:mad:0 -
I've been with them almost since they launched and despite having good home coverage for years its been consistently poor for most of this year.0

I left 3 a year ago when my contract ended, and even then I had difficulty explaining to customer services that I wanted to leave. They would not listen and were quite rude. Used the phone in Harpenden, Herts, never had good connection, could only use it in the kitchen, my txt messages were often not rcd by people and I did not rcv their messages, I didn't get calls and when people tried to call me a message came up saying unable to make a connection. By the end of the year no one bothered to txt or call me. I will never go back to 3 again even though they seem to be the cheapest. When I got through to customer services in India I couldn't understand what they were saying. Very poor service0

Yes, 3 are the cheapest, but
no, they are not the best.
The number of people looking for 3 retention deals amazes me. I still have a year on my 3 contract, and will not be renewing.0 -
I have a very poor reception form 3!!!! It was the same in Leicestershire, and now I moved to Lancashire -it is the same. I can't get reception (only very occasionally very poor one) in my house, only on the drive!!!!!!
Last night I decided to try something - went to settings and tried to see what other networks I can select. And there was another 3 network. I tried to select it and I was allowed, and I had full signal!!!!! Today at work I have three (yes, three different icons) for 3 network. I am not sure if I am allowed to select another that default 3 network. My guess is that one of them allows 3G data, another just voice (2G) and the 3rd one would be HSDPA (just looked at 3 website, and they have 3 coverage maps, maybe that is what I can choose from?)
Anyone tried to do this?Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I've tried this many times - I can't even see three whilst at my home address to select. I get offered t-mobile or vodafone - he call centre can't understand this simple fact and regurgitate that I have full coverage on their maps!0 -
I have had nothing but issues with 3 all of them Customer Services and none with reception.
My initial 12 month contract went ok until I tried to change my DD date when I went from 4 weekly pay to monthly. After this and £90 in missed DD charges I had decided to leave 3 and go to Vodafone (my friend works for them) However, 3 offered me a great deal brand new phone on an 18 month contract. I accepted this but when the first bill arrived I was being charged for all sorts of things I shouldnt have been. I compained and got no where. Someone phoned up to do a customer satisfaction survey (2 words 3 dont know the meaning of) The lady advised me to take my new phone to the 3 store as it had been continuosly switching itself off ever since i first recieved it. (Sony Eriksson W880i) I took it into the store (Newbury) the manager was rude and said ' I have no idea why you were told to come here there is nothing I can do to solve this for you' Unfortunately there was noone in the store at the time for me to frighten off so I had to leave before I thumped his arrogent face in.
Long and short is I am on a contract I didnt agree to with a phone that doesnt work, going back to 3 for the 4th time tomorrow for repair, and I cant cancel the contract until July 2009. still Happy days when I get rid of the theiving gets.
3 SmellOne day some company will do what they say they will do and charge a fair charge.:T
Not doing the opposite of that which they promise and charge you a fortune for the privileged.
Or maybe not:mad:0 -
Has anyone been able to get a good deal to stay with three via the retentions department ? I have been with three for over five years and my contract ends at the end of october 2008 (ten days away). Well i rang customer services and told them my contract is coming to an end and asked what deal on an N96 they could offer me to keep me as i have been a loyal customer with them for over five years. Well i struggled with a lady in a call centre somewhere in asia for over half an hour and it appears that she was only offering me the standard deal available on their website. I said i wanted free browsing for example and she said ok but later in the conversation i discovered she`d just given me an add on and would charge me for that as well.
What insulted me further was that she tried to tell me "please dont compare us with other providers because it doesnt work like that" errr why ??? Of course it works like that. And tried to scare me by saying that i need to watch out because if i DO decide to go to a rival how do i know they wont increase my bill after ive joined !!!!! What the hell is that about !
So as a loyal customer at the end of my contract on my 4th phone with three i do what everyone recommends and call to try and get rewarded for my loyalty and find im given no incentives to stay AT ALL, conned into believing that im getting free internet when im really just getting an add on and fed scare tactics in order to make me not join a rival.
What has annoyed me further i suppose is her tone in general. How can i describe it. It felt like they had been instructed to offer only the standard deals, insist fervently that there was no such thing as an improved deal to offer longterm customers at the end of their contract and to lead those customers into staying not through incentives and improved deals but by making you doubt that their rivals can be trusted and that you might be SORRY you left when youre being sneekily charged extra after you join them. It insults me because im no fool and none of that stuff was ever going to work on me, ive spoken to friends on other networks who have been given good deals when at the end of a contract and i know full well she was offering me NOTHING but the basic package and im also aware that Three are guilty are adding things to your bill without telling you and that she was trying to SCARE me into staying with them. I just expected more. I told her i had to go in the end and hung up.
Anyone any suggestions ? Anyone had any decent deals at the end of their contract with 3 ?
And can anyone tell me what i actually have to DO to cancel ? Do i just call them before the end of the contract ? Do i need to give them anything in writing ?
Cheers

I appear to be a rare creature. I signed up with 3 last year - got a Samsung L760 (aka, Ted Baker Button). Contract £15 pm, 300 minutes or text. Coverage better than my last phone with TMobile. I'm saving £10 pm on the 3 contract. No problems with the functioning of my phone, no dropped calls, no difficulties at all.
I've even called their customer services department and all calls have ended satisfactorily - all queries have been answered correctly first time, and all requests actioned at the time of making the request.s/e0
