I would go to the papers, surely there is some way for you to keep your annominity, plus the story fee will more than cover the interest that you have lost on the moeny not being in your savings account.

I am surprised that there has not been coverage of other disastrous weddings if the reviews are so awful (haven't read them myself as I am clearly too thick to work out where the hotel is!!)

I was just browsing on Pre-Loved wedding dresses and was surprised to see 'the venue' is advertising on there!!! Must be going all out on advertising this year!! Obviously planning on getting as much money out of poor, unsuspecting people as he can before he falls flat on his ugly, fat face!!! :mad:

Speaking to the courts tomorrow so will hopefully get some more info. OH got back today although gone to work tonight . Not had a chance to have a proper chat about it all but will see what we can come up with tomorrow. Am thinking that if we win the initial hearing about his application then the case will be done and dusted anyway.

I think its probably best to get this hearing over with before going to papers as it could be a lot simpler. I have a feeling (could be wrong of course) he wont turn up (as he stated on the papers he did not want a hearing) so would be more confident in saying our piece. .

In the (unlikely I hope) event that he did win then surely we wouldnt be expected to organise a wedding in 4 months surely. Surely the judge would effectively just be telling us that we have lost £5000 to this twit! Ok, in some cases I can see losing a deposit (if it was a few £100 I wouldnt give a damn but this is a lot of money for us to just 'lose'.

I would never get married there anyway but surely I could not be expected to after all this illfeeling and this length of time left??!!

ETA: People who can't find the venue, no of course you aren't stupid!!! I have removed all the main clues so it is not at all obvious. I think the reason some people can find it is because they have used very ingenious ways (which I had never thought of but I can see how they did it) or they are local to the area and the name of the venue is a little 'different'. And I have no idea why there hasn't been more publicity about the venue. A friend of a friend said that she wanted to complain but she didnt want to spend the rest of her life thinking about the many problems at her wedding!!! I can kindof see that is true and maybe others have felt the same.

I'm sure you'll win Beks! You have enough evidence to prove that the man is a complete and utter liar!! I think you could be right about him not turning up. He probably knows he's going to lose, it won't be the first time. I hope the courts can give you some words of hope when you ring them tomorrow. £5,000 is a hell of a lot of money to lose but, as I said, I really don't think you will lose. I'll be shocked if you do!! Its just going to be a waiting game now until the 22nd March.

I always find putting my thoughts down in writing is therapeutic. It helps me to get some perspective on things. Putting your thoughts down on here is good though because you get other peoples perspectives and lots of advice and support!!! It makes you realise that there are a lot of nice people around. especially when you're dealing with horrible people like him!!! I think, in the unlikely event that you do lose your money, you'd have nothing to lose by taking it to the press at that point, particularly when other people have said they'd be prepared to talk as well.

He's certainly got a nerve advertising as extensively as he is at the moment! It makes you wonder if he's getting worried about losing business. Serves him right!!!

Maybe he's advertising as much as he is because he's NOT getting much business at the moment - perhaps due to the BAD reviews on trip advisor.

If his name in the golfing circle gets trashed then thats even better as I know alot of people who go golfing, my step dad is part of a golfing society and also play with alot of other clubs so the word will be spreaded as soon as you have the cash in your pocket. As for the other hotels they are another matter what are the reviews for the other hotels he supposedly owns?

Been trying to keep off this thread cos I don't want people getting bored of my moaning lol!!!!

We have the court date for the venue owner to dispute the delivery date of the court papers on 22nd July so just over a week to go. Have written a letter to the court which has been delivered and OH has taken the day off work (still need to find someone to look after dd or OH will be going alone).

In the meantime, I have been checking out trip advisor again and found another bad review. Not a wedding but horrendous nonetheless.

On a brighter note, we are off to meet Prince Harry next week, OH has another adventure in the pipe line. :D:D:D
