Oh just for info...if booking a ceremony in Kent this is what should happen (as per the A kentish Wedding Magazine..

"Once u have booked a venue in Kent they will then inform the local ceremonies team at the registry office dealing. Couples will then receive a letter from the ceremonies team advising them of legal preliminaries to marriage, what they need to do next and the doc and fees that are required.
A booking with the Kent Registration Service can be made up to 2 years in advance and this guarantee applies as soon as the venue is booked."

    Hope this is useful beks.

That is superb, thank you eve! Its a 100% definate that he hasn't done this then! More evidence to take to court if necessary!! Thank you, I will find the quote myself to take with us.

Have found yet another review (my mum found it) but it is in german so my mum translated it for me. To cut a long story short, a german couple stayed there in May 2008, had a nightmare time and the whole thing was a disaster. They went to trading standards, sent 2 letters to the venue and then took them to court. They did not respond and they won the case and got money back.
How many times can this man do this? It must be at least 5 times he has been taken to court now. He needs to be stopped as obviously being taken to court does not bother him.:mad::mad::mad:

Iv just read through this whole thread Beks and OMG i cant believe what this guy has done. Im waiting with interest now to see what the outcome is.
Im from up north so wont effect me or anyone i know but even still.
I hope you get the money back and then you spread his shocking name across the papers he deserves it.
When i get time i may try and locate the place and find these reviews. May take me time,
But im keeping my fingers crossed for you hun and just shows that every b2b should check out reviews for her venue and get wedding insurance first.
(getting ready to book my own wedding this year for 2012 so will learn from your mistakes)

Those of us that know are not passing it on at the moment, as the case is at a critical point and we are being very careful not to risk Beks case. Please don't be offended, we will tell you as soon as she has her money back. However if you go through the thread there are some clues ;)

Thanks Franny, yes got to keep quiet a little bit longer ... one step closer today though :D!

Got through to the courts and according to their records he has not responded. If this is correct, he is therefore in contempt of court and we will win the case by default. The official guy we need to speak to is still not back at work (after 3 weeks A/L he is now stuck in the snow )!!! However, we were informed of this by the secretary and she is sure this is correct and he did not respond. (but we dont have official notification of this). Therefore, we now have to wait for the documents and if deemed appropriate by the judge, the courts will be pursuing the owner for our money. If he doesnt pay I believe we will have to pay out for bailiffs etc but this cost will be passed on to him! All in all a good result but still dont want to count our chickens and will only breathe a sigh of relief once £5058 is back in our account! :D:D:D

Once that is done, we will be heading for the papers! :rotfl:

I gather you haven't read the thread? lol

The OP has come a long way since the first post was posted! (Which was back in September):)

:o I didn't get the chance to read the whole thing. That'll teach me to post before finishing my reading...it's like being back at school and not answering the questions in a comprehension test without reading the whole text! :o

I'm totally nosey and had a look to see if I could find the place and did because of the clues, lol. I shan't pass it on though as wouldn't want to cost Beks the case. Good luck!
