If you love beaches, be prepared to fall head-over-heels for the island's east coast, where white powdery sands stretch for miles, with great watersports and stunning tropical scenery. The underwater views are spectacular too, with Bayahibe's coral reefs being popular with scuba-divers.

Iberostar Bavaro is where you want to go
I work in travel & know this to be a good'un so much so I'm going next month for the week. :j :j0 -
Just back from Dom Rep this weekend and had the best holiday ever. We stayed in the RIU Palce Macao (which was expensive) at Punta Cana but worth it. The Dom Rep is recognised as being safe when you leave the resorts and we/ or anybody else we met didn't have any problems.
It is a beautiful place - paradise. We also had the premium seats from Thomson - £120 extra and well worth it as you book in quickly at both airports, free drinks, better entertainment and larger seats. I would definitely upgrade again (and we intend to return to the Dom Rep). If you are staying in resorts I would suggest you take US dollars rather than Dom Rep pesos as they are preferred!0 -
MrsE, we have been to two Iberostar and we would always chose them they are excellent hotels. No Matter what you do there will be critics.0
