New questions now I know what I want & Dom Rep advice?

We've been to the Dominican Republic three times and we've left the hotel on every occasion independently. We've NEVER been advised not to leave the hotel. The Dominican Republic is no less safe than any other holiday destination. We've found the Dominican people to be the most friendliest people you could ever wish to meet.
MrsE - I've previously stayed at the Iberostar Costa Dorada, so you have any questions give me a shout and I'll try to answer them.
The beaches on the East and South coasts are nicer and more "typically Caribbean." However, there is more to see and do on the North coast and it is usually cheaper to stay there.0 -

I love warm calm seas, like this
Which side is best:D
Not at all bothered about nightlife, but like to do a few "day trips".0 -

Ras Mohamed, near Sharm on the Red Sea in Egypt. Its a beautiful spot & anyone going to Sharm MUST go there:D
DH & I though about jacking in it all, I could rent out deck chairs on the beach & he could ferry people on a minibus to & from Sharm for day trips. DD could run the gift shop & her BF could sell snacks & drinks from a beach hut:D:D:D0 -

Bavaro is right next door to punta cana . when i satyed at iberostar punta cana , i walked the entire beach line from punta cana to bavaro .
i walked into the grounds of every hotel on the coast via the beach for a nose .
the principe bavaro was nice i remember it but the iberostar punta cana edged it in my opinion . for your information the iberostar bavaro is in the same grounds as the iberostar punta cana0 -
