The school don't currently supply sew on badges, that is why they are looking for a manufacturer to make and supply them.
If you had bothered to read page 1 of the thread, (post 8), you would have realised this. Pathetic.
If you read the OP post (page 1 post 1) your see the OP decided to send his child in the wrong uniform and then got upset when the school wrote him a letter pointing out it was wrong. I think the supplying of a badge to sew on is a good idea and if you read my first post I did suggest this. If the OP had done this when they first heard about the rules they could have convinced the school to put the badges in place before term started. Maybe you should read ALL the posts before you respond.0 -

And I am so sick of posts like yours. A certain German tyrant would have loved you, 'a rule follower, no matter what'.
Just because something is a 'rule' does not necessarily make it a good rule. Very often there will be better ways to do things if people would have open minds. It's closed minds that cause more problems in this world than anything else ....IMO.
OP......I'm glad a compromise seems to have been reached. Hopefully you will be able to source a good supplier.Herman - MP for all!0 -

The OP didn't receive any letter at the end of the summer term so didn't know about the change of rules until the second day back at school. How could they have convinced the school to supply badges before the end of term if they didn't know about the change in the uniform?
Fair play to the OP, the minute they heard about the new rules, they attended a meeting and reached a suitable compromise.
I'm reading all the posts on this thread, thanks, are you? It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?0 -

Birdy12, DS's school has iron on badges. If you PM me I can send you some information which your school may find useful.
And if you want to know how the uniform suppliers think look at this quote from the Schoolwear association forum:
Also it is upto the local retailers to share their own success stories where they have either competed effectively or found a method of supply that restricts sales from the large retailers e.g we did not sell any blazers badges this year but offered to badge our own blazers (we had the badges under the counter). What this did was restrict the supply of the M&S blazer in our area as parents could not get a badge for it. They had to buy a blazer from us if they wanted a badged garment!

Well done dori2o, the school tried to act like the playground bully - I'm glad you stood up to them.0

Thanks for letting us know dori2o. Good result. I'm glad you persevered.

Im glad you got it sorted, OP. This logoed uniform business can be a huge joke - when I was at school, the year I started secondary school they decided that these logo'ed jumpers were compulsory at 40 pounds each, only obtainable from John Lewis and anyone not in them would be suspended.
This policy lasted 2 weeks. My school took in one of the most deprived areas of the city and I think in some classes there would be literally one person with the jumper so they were forced to scrap the policy and by the next year there was hardly anybody with them.
Cheap school uniform was difficult enough to come across when I was at school (I had to have long sleeved open necked blouses due to my psoriasis and my poor mum used to have to buy me new ones every year at a cost of £20 for 2 ) so I dont see why schools have to be so darn picky about it - I mean, does the child wearing Asda uniform make a difference to their learning? No!
Well done again, OP.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
