You know you have to see it from the shops viewpoint. Its not like Asda where any kids from any school can wear their uniform. They have to keep stock of a specialised uniform which has a limited sales base and most likely most of it is sold in a one month period. Thats going to cost a lot of money to ensure you have the supply ready at the time needed and its not like they can be allowed to run out either. So what if they are making money out of it? Thats what business do. Sell as much as they can for the best price possible.

    Awww, the poor shop...
Sorry but what kind of silly comment is that to make? So people should be forced to pay overinflated prices just to keep the shops profits up???
    OK then

Once again, have you read all of this thread? This policy only just came in!! and not everyone has the choice of where to send their kids to school.
The OP also has bought their kids uniforms just not the ones that are way over priced.
Please read the whole thread before posting your inane points of view.
    Yawn...

i have read this thread, i was speaking in general about parents moaning about uniforms (various posts on this thread also).

ill direct my point to op then!

if the policy has just come in then really you will have to consider wether or not to continue sending your child there, if not either save up yearly or buy things on a weekly basis. i doubt the school will change due to a few parents complaining.

there you go Amistoso, does that post meet your criteria for forum correspondance.

if so i am delighted i have exceeded your expectations of me.:D

and with the quote `some people` meaning?
  • Once again, the central issue is the monopoly created by the school using one supplier for its uniform.

In other sectors, monopolies/cartels are unlawful and when they are uncovered, they are headline news.

At the end of the day, I don't think you should be forced to buy something from one supplier at an over-inflated price.

    Halleluja!!!
I agree totaly, some people seem to think that this isn't the issue. Why should parents be forced to pay such high prices when there are totaly suitable alternatives available at reasonable prices?
Doesn't matter if you have the money or not, I could afford it but as a matter of principle would not succumb to this monopolising!!!

I think this will explain it better than me,
Can't afford to pay your bills but spending a fortune on your kids uniform? Hmmm
you could have got her uniform at less than half the price and paid the rest towards your debts
