Just because you are not breaking the law does not give you the "right" to park in a disabled or parent and child designated place. Flogging is too good for you :rotfl:

Other people on this thread have tried to imply that their is some legal barrier to anyone parking in a disabled space. (in a private car park) There is not - simple. So everyone has the "right" to park there. Whether it offends the morals of others is another matter.

Not sure why you feel that by pointing out the facts that you need to state. "flogging is to good for you"

If there are genuinely able bodied people parking in the disabled spaces - like a few weeks ago when we were cut up by a bloke in an aerial erection company van, and then he leapt out of it to go into Aldi - park behind them, boxing them in.

When the driver came back with his fishing gear and sports equipment, he was a little cross. So I smiled sweetly and said that it would appear that somebody had parked in a disabled space and perhaps the driver had no choice but to park there but, being disabled, would take a bit longer than most people. I then limped off and did my shopping. His face when it turned out to be me getting onto the car that had blocked him in, was a picture.

unfortunately with my mood-swings i would of loved to have done that myself, hehe

went to sainsburys yesterday and saw a taxi parted in disabled bay,,, no badge, not even a disabled taxi...

OH wanted to check all the cars to make sure they had badges, i distracted him to the one space left...
but it is amazing how able bodied non badge holders will use the spaces put aside for disabled/parent and toddler because the space maybe nearer to the entrance of the store, whilst i awaited for my badge and there were blue badge spaces i still refused to park there because there will always be someone worse off than you that may/will need it.

It is a shame that supermarket/ or private car park rules cannot legally be enforced, when it comes to these bays, there aren't many bays provided to those that need it but it makes life harder if you can't use them and you fit the criteria to use them.
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?
  • he can do his job thats fine, but following someone the store and hassling them when they are clearly disabled is wrong. even traffic wardens cant to that afaik.
I cannot believe some of you are suggesting they complain about the security guard! He is only doing what he has been told is part of his job!

Yes some of the people may have been wrong to park in the disabled spaces but that doesn't make it right to park in a non-parking space - if a car was parked next to the trolleys I certainly wouldn't be taking care not to catch it with my trolley as I passed as it shouldn't be there.

our local supermarket clamps people in their bays without a blue badge. £75 +vat for removal of clamp.

thanfully those of us living on the correct side of the border dont need to worry about private clampers ;)

Indeed. Wonder if it is legal - south of the border. I would doubt it but may be wrong.

I saw this at Limoges airport and was suitably impressed

Most French disabled parking spaces have this.

    ???? Is that deliberately blank?

(or can I just not see it)

Suppose we will have to agree to disagree as i don't consider it to be hassling - I would expect them to follow anyone into the store parked outside on the double yellows and ask them to move regardless of if they are disabled or not. As I wish they would do with the so-called drop-off points where many people properly park when I often go just to drop off.
