you can keep the turkey butties..we all hate turkey in this house...lol
sounds like you have a nice few days planned..enjoy xx0 -
My streaming cold got the better of me and I cancelled friends last night - I managed to stay up (not necessarily awake though) until just after midnight then was happy to call it a day.
I cooked my turkey dinner today - only a diddy one, but it is strange - feels like CHristmas now LOL - that is doing the CHristmas dinner I had on CHristmas day an injustice as it was really lovely and the host had gone to a lot of effort - it just felt strange not having cooked it myself after having cooked one every year since I was 17 - oooohhhh too many years to contemplate!! So the world is now as it should be - turkey to nibble at whenever I get the urge LOL.
I feel as if I should be making all sort of resolutions - but I'm not going to as I'll only break them before next week is through if my past record is anything to go by.
I am going to continue to hack away at my 0% card, try and live a healtier lifestyle and try to be happy and take life as it comes. I've been working towards these aims for some time now so nothing new - just good to remind myself of them from time to time.
DS stayed last night and we are just about to watch a DVD - Robin Hood. DD has brought me a glass of vino - all is well in Milann's world - oooohhhh - hope I've not tempted fate.
Happy New Year

Talking of that healthier lifestyle in my last post - I sent for a tape measure from the British Heart Foundation mid December and it came a few days ago - I measured myself today!!! I knew I was overweight by about a stone and a half (doesn't sound a lot but I'm only 5ft and it really tells!!) and I carry the weight around my middle - this measure is graded in colour - I'd expected to be in the 'getting toward higher risk' category but it was there right in the middle of the red 'at higher risk' category. I do know these are only guidelines and by themselves not a true indicator. But I have to admit it has set the old grey matter thinking about my lifestyle. My sister had a heart attack at 46 and my brother at 50 - 13 and 15 years ago now and both fatal. So maybe this is the reminder I need to get myself back on track.
So I need to lose about a stone and a half, get more active and get more organised so as to let life run more smoothly.
1st step was today - I walked to dentist, rather than use car - thus getting a bit of exercise and saving on petrol - little step but in the right direction.
I have had cereal and fruit for breakfast and hm turkey and veg soup and a bread roll for lunch. Turkey, mushroom in lf white sauce and rice for tea. I will have a treat each day and am currently debating whether or not to commit to going to weightwatchers or go it alone. Mmmmmmmmmmm- thinking about that one - will paying the cash make me any better - I started off well doing it on the internet a while back then lost incentive - maybe the class will work better or will I just be throwing cash away????
Off to do some number crunching.

I feel your pain.
I have deceided to go back to fat class.
I cannot do it on my own.
I know what to do blah blah but I 'cheat' if I dont have a weigh in.
I really grudge having to pay to go to a class buy hey ho.

It's the thought of nearly a fiver a week that puts me off Beanie - I KNOW what to do, I used to be the diet cook in a hospital - so even know HOW to do it - I JUST CAN'T stick to it.
Funny you should mention mobility - my hip is really giving me agro at the mo and I'm sure carrying extra weight is aggrevating it - then I stop walking cos it hurts - then get out of the habit etc etc. One time I walked virtually everywhere - these days I find any excuse not to.

Well 1st day back at work today - no children in today, but the training we did was pretty good. It was on something I've done many times before, but to get a bit of background on the subject was quite interesting.
How I kept my eyes open though is a different matter. DH has a permanent cough - docs haven't found out why and various lotions, potions, sprays and poltices have made no difference to him - so he stopped taking them!! On top of his usual cough he has caught the cold I had after Christmas - he has coughed SOLIDLY for the last 2 nights. I hold my hands up to those of you that have kids that don't sleep or don't sleep yourself, I don't know how you do it. I have felt rubbish all day, every joint is aching. So I think I'll make dh a doctors appointment - or we'll both end up being ill.
I was debating weightwatchers and a swim this evening, but decided I'll be better having an early night instead.
I checked out my 0% card which includes all the Christmas shopping - I was chuffed to discover I still have over a hundred left in the bank after I've paid it. It really seems to be working for me - noting everything I spend on my 0% card, checking I have enough in current account to cover it at the end of each month. Plus I'd put some away every month in a separate account which I transfered to my current account to cover Christmas. It is a good feeling not to have overspent this year, and all because I BUDGETTED - see Martin has taught an old dog new tricks.

Yah for budgeting

Been pleased with myself so far this year - my total spends have been less than £5 and some of that was on medication for dh, the other was for a sandwich because I'd forgotten to take lunch to work yesterday - not too happy with that but 4/6 NSD's so far this year
Long may it continue.....
Not many spends planned for this weekend other than milk and bread so looking good. On the other hand wish I was planning some exotic spend to somewhere warm and sunny, with surplus funds to cover it but hey - can't be greedy - my day will come - even if only in my dreams!!

Spent just over £20 this weekend, but included some half price food stuff that has gone into storage for later in month.
Got my 0% statement and it is £3,556.57 - I'm going to up my payments to £100 a month from minimum payment, which is at least £20 a month more than I'm currently paying. Then pay extra as and when I can.
I will continue to save £100 a month toward next Christmas and some treats or repayment - depending on how I feel at the time.
That will leave me with £400 a month for everything else I pay from my main job.
I have nearly completed all the compulsory training needed to do work for the 2nd job I now have so am hoping to get the chance of a few hours extra as and when but without over-doing it.
I have enough cash to pay my reward card when the statement comes through - I prefer to wait for the statement and then pay it straight away.
So things are looking ok, just hoping they get the funding to keep me on after my 12 month contract finishes - it's all a bit in the hands of the LEA finance department
Basically plodding along in the right direction - wish I had a better paid job, but it's the kind of work I enjoy and that in itself is rewarding, I suppose LOL
On the ME front.... I have decided to get out of the rut I've fallen into. Not quite sure exactly how yet but I'm working on it
