Have been busy doing a bit if Christmas shopping - a bit like British Rail - I'm getting there albeit slowly but surely. I've still got a few pressies to buy but have done a fair but now.
It will be a bit strange as we're going out for Christmas dinner and then for Boxing day meals too - I'm notorious for 'over shopping' on food 'just in case' - so I'm in a bit of a turmoil as what to buy and what not to buy on the food front - head knows what I NEED but will heart and hands agree whrn I actually go to shop LOL.
I'm actually feeling quite festive at the moment as we spent the early evening doing the rounds of the Manchester CHristmas Markets. Warming mulled wine and lots of food - NOT MSE - we could have had a gourmet meal for what I spent this evening - but I enjoyed it and sometimes it JUST HAS TO BE.
Not got much of a TADA list though - no housework done this weekend - tut tut - will make up for it.
I'm debating whether to join weightwatchers - I'm putting a fair amout of weight on - been on HRT about 9 months now but think I'm just using that as an excuse as I'm eating for England at the mo. I begrudge paying but will it make me stick to it more..............shuffles off pondering.............

Belated Merry Christmas to Taxi and everyone else!!!
I have been to my dd's for Christmas and had a lovely time. She has been with her oh for a good few years now and I finally got to meet his family. All went well - a nerve racking thought, but I'm not sure why I was so worried about it lol as they were lovely.
My Christmas shopping took on a form all of it's own as things I'd ordered on the net didn't arrive and I had to do a last minute trips to buy extras. I'd bought dd some ghd straightners then had an e-mail with some Christmas suggestions and a little note (think she had an idea I might be buying straightners) saying her oh's mum had bought her straightners. I had a mega panic as I wasn't sure if the shop would give me cash back - luckily they did. Sooo then I had to get something else I had NO idea what to get. I got them a bread maker instead - not a lot of difference reallyAll that was when we were covered in a thick layer of snow.
I ended up buying a turkey to put in the freezer just in case we had further snow and we didn't make it to London - so it was all a bit of a frantic lead up to the festivities.
It was so good to see dd healthy and happy in her own home - a bit different from last Christmas day when she was rushed into hospital and operated on in the new year. Luckily that is all a distant memory now and she is continuing to improve - not quite where she was before but not far off.
DS did the driving to London and back so myself and DH had a complete break - bliss.
I am feeling quite pleased as I saved for this year and I have used my reward credit card but will pay it all off as soon as I get the bill in. A far cry from many previous years. I shall do the same for next year. I must get a grip on paying the last of my 0% card off.
Enjoy the rest of the festivities everyone.

Sounds like you had a lovely christmas0

It has felt so strange not having the compulsory turkey butties throughout this week - it's the 1st time I've had Christmas dinner away from home and it was lovely, but I'm really missing those turkey left overs LOL - I must be one of the few who never tires of them!!
I am full of the sniffles and have a really dry throat today - will have another lazy day to ward off whatever it is brewing. Been having my manuka honey and lemon plus doused myself in eau de olbas oil. Afraid you wouldn't want to sit down wind of me at the mo.
I used the morrisons saving stamps I'd been saving for Christmas yesterday. I have stocked up and every cupboard, shelf and orrafice in my kitchen has some food stuff in - I should not need anything other than fresh produce for AGES - I will be vigilant and not waste any either. I was quite chuffed as I didn't have a list or calculator with me but I did a quick 'guestimate' and add up as I went around and my shop was £103.01 - I had £100 of stamps - not a bad shop for what felt like £3.01.
Going out with ds tomorrow and then to friends tomorrow evening - ds coming round for a special roasty dinner New Years Day and then having the in-laws round Monday. This holiday has gone SOO quickly.
