Looking forward to this weekend - dd is coming home for the weekend and it looks as if the sun might shine - so we can go out into the countryside for a walk and a meal.
Had my hair cut at cheaper hairdressers - so far so good but I'll see how it is when I try to do it LOL
Have a good weekend everyone

I can't believe where the time has gone - dd came home a couple of weeks ago - we had a great weekend and had a lovely walk in Derbyshire followed by a meal in a country pub.
Life has sort of taken over and we have been gardening lots . MIL has been unwell so have been tied up there and before I knew it I have done my 1st half term at my new job. I'm going to be doing dinner duty each day and an afterschool club 1 day a week - I'm hoping that will boost the wages a bit. Overall though - I am doing ok with keeping the finances under controlI have reigned in a lot of spends (they were slipping big time) and basically logging everything. It helps not being able to run out for a sandwich at lunchtime - I have had to be organised.
I also have an interview on Tues for occasional holiday and afterschool work with a local society - I am hopeful to be taken on the books - I will already have come across some of the children needing care. Just watch it all dry up and have no work now with cutbacks - it'd be just my luck LOL
Off to catch up on some very neglected diaries.

You def seem much happier in your new job.Good luck with the interview on tuesday.
Hope your MIL is feeling better nowand must've been lovely to spend time with your son.0 -
I caught up on the ironing this morning - in between playing about on here and FB
I can't remember the last time I went into Stockport so I walked in this afternoon - takes a good half hour. I had to get some passport style photos to take to interview tomorrow - £5 - I WAS IN SHOCK!!!!!!!!!! I think it cost me £2 last time I had photos done in a kiosk - the machine was state of the art all singing and dancing though but didn't rub out my double chin or wrinkles - I expected at least that much for the money it cost me LOL . They'd better put me on the books after that tomorrow!!
I was quite shocked how many shops were empty - but if everyone who goes into town did what I did I can see why. I looked around and like the true MSEer I am know asked myself - did I really need it - was it worth working ? hours for and would I use it. I came home with 2 bags of chewey sweets from £1 shop for Halloween. I did treat myself to a coffee and a cake - which wasn't worth the £4 it cost me..... but I did enjoy it and needed a sit down before I walked home again. I quite enjoyed my mooch about and was very pleased with my self control - can you see the shine from my halo?????
I had to buy car tax too - I hate paying out for that as it feels like money for nothing.
DH off tomorrow so not sure what we'll be doing (he's getting over man flu and spent all weekend in bed) so probably it'll be an easy day all round.

I was shocked last time I went for photos too.
I'm worse than you as I only go to town if I have to.I think there will be a lot more shops shutting down soon with all the cuts coming into effect as there won't be many people able to buy stuff.0 -
Realised last night I hadn't washed my swimming stuff - I asked dh to get the bag from car. He came back said it wasn't there then told me it had been unlocked that morning when it was very frosty. After searching everywhere and phoning health club to see if I'd left it there we came to the conclusion someone must have been in the car. My carpark keyfob was missing and later I realised my Morrison vouchers I'd been collecting toward Christmas were gone from glove box!!! Luckily there wasn't much else in car.
DH thought he'd locked it but then doubted himself. We went to Trafford Centre to try and buy new cossie - it was heaving and we gave it up after going into a couple of shops to be told they didn't stock them in winter!! SKINNY DIPPING - don't think so LOL......... so we came home and went to sport shop up road and found one and dh bought me a new bag to carry it in too. I lost jeans, my fave top that I can throw on with anything, brushes and all my shampoo and smellie stuff - oh and underwear I only bought a few weeks ago!! (I'd changed and went straight out after my last swim!!) I was not amused!!!
When we got home today we both watched dh lock the car and had to go back out about an hour after - the car was open again!!!! No idea what is going on - it's a key lock not remote. WIll have to keep an eye on it. So dh has parked his car in front of mine in drive and we are emptying it completely. I know my clothes are not height of any fashion but I really didn't want to have to start replacng them. Curiouser and curiouser!!
DH also treated me to dinner out - he has been off today cos he's working Saturday instead.
So I've had a low spend day again - I'm doing ok with the spending.
I went for the interview for some holiday work this morning - it went ok and was strange as I walked in and one of the interviewers was a girl I worked with about 10 years ago. It was strange being interviewed by somebody I knew. I'll find out next week as they are interviewing over several days.
Meeting some friends from my old work tomorrow - hope the rain stays off as some are bringing their kids and a play in the park in planned.

I got a phone call today telling me I'd been accepted for the job I went for yesterday pending references and usual checks. It should be a few hours a week plus extra if I want it during holidays.
I am ready for the holiday work - I'm finding too much time on my hands is doing me no good at all!!! The more time I have the less I seem to do - other than think things through and mull over some things waayyyy too much or play on farmville!!!! I know during the summer holidays I ended up cleaning for the sake of it which is quite out of character.
I'm off to see my sil tomorrow - she had a knee replacement a few weeks ago. I'm going on the bus via Manchester for a quick mooch around Primani then dh will join me after work and we'll have tea together there - so looking forward to that.
Then it's back to work on Monday - no children Monday so a training day for us.
