Well done on the payments..your total is great.
I agree with you on the rewards CC...that is the reason I stopped using mine even though I always paid it off monthly I always spent more using the CC.I now only use my debit card.0 -
Went to the dentist - it was quite painless as the root is dead - so he put a temporary crown on and I have to go back and have another crown put on that tooth and a crown on another tooth that is broken - so that will be £195 in May when it is done!!! - that bit isn't painless £195. Could be a lot worse though - I asked him about a different tooth that has had the root drilled out and has gone black - to do that it would be £350 as it is cosmetic - but if it should break he can do it on NHS. All my remaining teeth are crumbling but knowing my luck that will be the only tooth that won't break as there is SO much filling in it LOL.
In a way it is quite annoying as they are in such poor condition because of the bone condition I have - they have been looked after!! - but no account of this is taken, wheras in comparision (and rightly so!!!!!) a diabetic gets free eye treatment as poor eye health is a by-product of diabbeties - but no account is taken of the O.I. where teeth are concerned. I'll get off my soap box now - but it's one of my little bugbears. DS had his teeth coated when he was younger as he has the same condition but the coatings weren't available when I was young!!! It does seem to have made a difference to his teeth.
I met a friend with her daughter and went for a coffee earlier which was lovely. Got a bit of work to do for the course I'm doing at some point before I go back to work.

Glad the teeth didn't hurt but ouch to the bill.If mine were starting to cost that much I'd be tempted to have the whole lot removed and replaced with dentures.I can see the point re the illness and should be free..there are many unjust things though...astmatics have to pay for inhalers...they are life saving drugs...
Glad you got out to enjoy a coffee with your friend.0 -
Good news that there was no pain involved - and hopefully with the crown on you've stopped avoiding mirrors? Thats a lot of money to have to fork out though
. As you and Taxi identified there are lots of disparities in the health system aren't there - I hadn't really thought about that before.

Dentist could be a lot worse than the £195 I suppose, I'm lucky to still have an NHS dentist and a reward cc that I can pay it with LOL LOL - I'll pay it back as quickly as possible though. Like Taxi said there does seem to be a lot of discrepencies in payment rules. I have had more than my monies worth though so shouldn't even think about complaining really!!
I think I'm ready to go back to work on Monday - had a couple of days helping a friend paint her new house - she hasn't finished it but has moved in today. I've also been doing an assignment for the course I'm doing - I've actually not minded it and it has made me think about doing a bit more study - I might look into the costs and see if there is any funding out there. But I'm getting bored now and need the banter of work, I've been trying to stay close to home and not splurge the cash too much.
After seeing my brother over Easter, he was taken into hospital on Easter Monday - I really must go and see him but at the moment I don't think I can face another hospital visit - selfish I know - but I think I'll wait till he gets the test results and then go. I've had a really good couple of weeks and re-charged myself mentally but not sure if I can be 'positive' enough and cheer him up whilst he's waiting. I've texted and phoned several times but we seem to have the strange effect of winding each other up recently when other people saying the same thing doesn't bother me at all - brother and sisterly love I suppose - but he is 12 years older than me and we never had a 'typical' sibling rivalry - it's only just emerged LOL
Better and go and Christen tea.

Glad you are feeling more like yourself now and ready to go back to work.
Sorry to hear that you're brother is unwell and that you are now arguing like teenagers...lol0 -
How was the first day back at work, I imagine everyone is raring to go for the final term! It sounds like you had a really good break and there is some saying about a change being as good as a rest... I'm not sure I agree some of the times of change we've had to go through have been anything but restful lol!
Take it easy tonight!

Had a good start back to work - not sure if it is the sunshine and last term that has boosted me or a combo fo the 2 weeks rest and HRT LOL. I've certainly been sleeping a lot better and I hadn't realised how unsettled my sleep was until it improved????!!!!!
I ended up treating myself to a pretty M&S top (and it's not a t-shirt either) on Sunday and I had to buy the bigger size than usual - I know sizes can vary but it would be a poor excuse - as I have really comfort ate since Christmas - and I still resembled a bag of spuds with lumps and bumps everywhere even in the bigger size - I feel so uncomfortable. DH was with me and he thought the top pretty - so I bought it even though it was a squeeze - LOL MASSIVE understatement me thinks- but the bigger size than this fell off my shoulders. SOooooo I have my incentive - to wear it on holiday in June - minus the lumps and bumps.
I weighed myself on Monday and was horrified to find I was the same weight as before I was ill 4 years ago - after I'd lost a couple of stone after being ill (not a reccommended route for weight loss though) - I swore I would never let myself get so heavy again - not massively overweight but enough to feel the difference once I'd lost it.
So as I went back to work on Monday - I had my 3rd or maybe even 4th new start to this year - the difference is this time I'm hoping the recent family health probs are behind me and I'm in the right frame of mind. I have kept a diary of everything I've eaten and upped my water intake. I've done a little more exercise - mainly walking a little each day. I'm going at it in a sensible way just sensible eating with an occasional treat. I think I've done well so far but will only weigh myself each weekend.
I've also re-started my spending diary - spent on my top and meal out on Sunday - an end of holiday treat in sunshine at Morcambe. I haven't spent a penny since - but it is only Wednesday LOL
My assignment is due in tomorrow for the course I'm doing and I'm in shock that it has been finished a couple of days - quite out of character - I'm usually burning the midnight oil the night before it's due.
Must do some catching up tomorrow evening on diaries.
Hope everyones ok - take care
