  • Sounds like things went well! So your school breaks up tomorrow (Thurs?) - I think the schools round here go through to next Thursday like Beanielou's. Have you got any plans for the break (and I don't mean 'catch up on ironing' type things lol)?

Can't believe how long I slept last night - was in bed and asleep before 9.30 didn't get up till 10 this morning and have had a lovely lazy day doing NOTHING - most strenuous thing I've done is brew up - and dh has done more than his fair share of that - think I've made a token brew. Tea is moussaka from the freezer (eating from the big cook-in I did a few weeks ago).

DH is off until after Easter we haven't made any plans but will have a few nice days out - weather permitting of course - even if its grot will amble on over to pub for lunch mid-week - they do a yummy carvery for about £4 each. Hoping to get a few nice walks in too and all the usual catching up with everything which will include a bit of housework but I have no intention of overdoing that aspect of things LOL. Basically I intend to chill and take each day as it comes. It's been a roller-coaster of emotions since Christmas and I know I need to take some 'me' and 'us' time relaxing.

I'm getting itchy palms and the shops are calling me to buy some clothes - unusual for me but I saw a lady at work (we all wear scruffs that won't ruin if kids cover them in paint) - anyway she looked lovely in a dress - I own 1 dress - which I've worn for every 'do' for the last 4 years LOL LOL LOL. Got me thinking and feeling very cheesed with my wardrobe of jeans and tea shirts for summer and same jeans and jumpers for winter. I will risist though cos it depresses me big time going clothes shopping - can't wear high heels cos my ankles go over, am too short for my waist and can never get anything to fit me - if 1 bit fits it's either too big or too small elsewhere of garment (I blame it on the designers -dd being one it's a bit of a family joke LOL) Might just be the mind set I need to get back doing a bit of exercise and healthier eating so that I can at least fasten a few items in shops without bursting buttons before I even get things home.

Finally finished the last of my Christmas biscuits - just in time for the Easter eggs to start. Still got 4 tubs of pringles in from Christmas - why do I give in to these 'buy 1 get 2 free' offers - but Christmas wasn't exactly what I'd planned either.

By the way dd is doing ok - slowly but all in the right direction - she is talking about going back to work - I'm not convinced she's ready but she has a big mortgage and is worried cos her sick pay is coming to an end very soon - I can understand why she wants to go back - only she knows how she feels though. Wish I had a few thousand going spare to pay it for her for another month or so. But I haven't - so she might just have to give it a go and see what happens.

    Off to check my moussaka.

  • Your plans for a chilled time sound lovely - fab that OH can join you and lets hope that the weather stays good for some nice days walks.
Glad to hear the DD is on the mend. Just a thought - she wouldn't be able to 'design you' a dress... for a birthday or something? Maybe its a good tailor you need rather than a good designer lol. When I was a teenager we lived in the Middle East, and couldn't get clothes there bar very cheap tshirts... we used to have all our clothes made at the tailors who were fab with pictures or copying things. It was cheaper to do that than have a relative buy something in a shop in the UK and post it over! DD might know of someone who could make you something...?
