How old was ds when he was diognosed CBM?

I will feel a lot happier when I know the results of the tests - they are very clever what they can do now though. Not so long ago I would have been admitted and had to go to theatre and knocked out for these tests - instead I watched on screen as doc moved camera inside me and took samples and biopsies there and then - amazing when I think about it - what isn't so amazing is the way I reacted - thinking of the old film where the miniature submarine travelled around inside someone. What I should have been doing was asking meaningful questions instead of burying my head in the sand to the things the doc had told me in the consultation just beforehand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't done much on MSE front - but at least I haven't been comfort spending like I would have previously done.

DS was 11 - just into secondary school. Getting the diagnosis was a painfully slow affair. Things have got better since of course - he's now at university and sharing a flat!

I think I'd be the same if there was a [STRIKE]submarine[/STRIKE] camera travelling around inside me, surely its a bit much to focus on all the doctor had said! These things can take time to mull over; and probably better the doctor was concentrating on 'driving' than answering your meaningful questions!!

I'm not good at waiting - not sure how long it takes for them to get the results - that should have been one of the meaningful questions I asked. But no news is good news I suppose. I can cope with things when I know what it is I'm coping with. Can't cope with not knowing what I'm expected to cope with IYSWIM.

Spent £1.50 at lunchtime today - I had to get out for a walk and a bit of space. Not too bad in the great scheme of things!!

Have things settled down a bit at school, or are they difficult hence the need for a walk?

Just come home from work cos I was sick. Feel fine now though but won't be allowed in tomorrow as they are quite strict about passing bugs around - rightly so.

I think everything that has happened since Christmas and dd and now this latest scare to my health has unslettled me - I took some strong painkillers to try and help me sleep last night - spent all night with a churning tummy - and didn't sleep again. So I think it is the tablets rather than a bug that made me sick.

I am going to have to get my head into some sort of rational thought process and worry about the diagnosis when I actually get it rather than guessing about it or I will end up making myself ill. I think the problem is that most things have happened as immediate emergencies that you just have to get on with - and it's the pre-planned issues that I need to hang about waiting for results etc that get to me most.

Sorry I'm whinging again - believe it or not I'm a happy go lucky person and tend not to worry but just get on with it - just the sequence of events that have taken place recently got to me.

You've had a lot to contend with recently so no wonder you're feeling a bit down/despondent.I tend to agree that its probably the pain killers making you sick.
Think you are thinking along the right lines re the results. There is no point worrying (easier said than done I know).I'm sure you'll deal with whatever is thrown your way when needed as you've dealt with loads already.
I think the most important thing at the moment is to focus on being as healthy as possible and looking after yourself so that in the case of needing to be treated for anything then you'll be stronger..just a thought..if concentrating on being well you are not dwelling on what illlness you may have.

Had a bit of good news - appointment came through today for going back to gynae and it isn't until May. Thanks for the support and encouragement - it was a bit of a bombshell when I heard the doc state the probabilities of what it might have been. Don't want to go too much into details as I have only told my dh. But if I don't go until May it can't be too serious - I'm a firm believer in no news being good news - anything serious and they drag you back sharpish LOL

Couldn't go into work today as was sick yesterday - I have been fine and sure it's the tablets I'd taken to try and sleep better than I had been. I slept much better last night and now I'm convinced it's 'only' going to be hormonal am sure I'll sleep even better tonight. Taxi - don't know how you go for long periods without sleep - it's one thing I can't cope with.

Now to re-start the year and get on track with everything else - haven't thought about much else other than health issues since Christmas - either mine or dd's!!!!!! I NEED a holiday - preferably all expenses paid with full maid service - but Cornwall in a caravan and a couple of Wetherspoon cheapie meals would do too LOL - that'll be the case at the end of May.

Glad at least you have a holiday booked....

Glad that the medical thing doesn't seem as serious as you first thought
