Went to the Christening - lovely, Very scary on the motorway snow was falling on gritted road and sticking fast. Drivers were sensible though and travelled slowly. Luckoly it was only about 10 miles away. Gave up on present delivering wouldn't have been safe trying to go over to Yorkshire - it can be bad over the Pennines on a good day so dread to think what it would have been like today.

Bought my turkey and a few bits on the way home it was brill. 10 minutes to closing and the shop was empty. So will finish everything else on Tuesday evening dh likes to come asnd 'hekp' lol - with the big shop but I like to have all important things before he distracts me and it doesn't matter too much if anything on my list is forgotten with his help!!

I have been using my new points cc for recent purchases - it's the 1st year I've totted up Christmas spending and I've had a bit of a shock seeing the total spend. Food for thought for next year - I think!!

Its always quite scarey when you add it all up.
I thought I had been quite frugal until I added it up.
Twas my l;owest total to date but certainly more than I thought.

Ventured out to get ds pressy today - scary walking on the sheet ice. The out of town shop is only round the corner so a 5 minute walk but they didn't have what I wanted. Soooo tomorrow will go out with dh on his way to work and he can drop me at the train station then I'll scour Manchester until I get something. I feel so bad not being able to choose something, but ds has everything he wants - goes and buys what he needs when he needs it, he has never been one for asking for things right from being little - bless!! But he is very thoughtful and puts a lot of time and effort into getting others peoples gifts - I WILL find him something o matter how long it takes me LOL - if all else fails I'll get him some Amazon vouchers to the same value as his sisters pressy to make it up. Even though they are both grown and earning way more than me - I like to treat them the same.

I was a bit miffed with the delivery man today - I'd ordered a game from Amazon with vouchers for dh - it was next day delivery and dispatched last Thursday. I have been hanging about for it be delivered so doing jobs about the house whilst waiting. I was heading downstairs with an armful of washing and noticed a card on the floor - thinking it was a missed delivery card I bent down to pick it up - it was an advert - relieved I stood up - just as a missed delivery card popped through the door - quite spooky really. There was NO WAY the door had knocked as I was there on the other side of it!!! I opened the door and shouted to the man - he didn't respond - so I waved as well as shouted and eventually got his attention. He brought the parcel back as I was ranting about him not knocking. He picked the delivery card he'd just posted from the floor where it had landed - never spoke a word - just cocked his head and half smiled!!!!!!! - if I hadn't have been there I would have missed it and they would have said I wasn't in. I'm not sure if he was deaf, didn't speak English or just calling my bluff. I tried to contact Amazon to tell them about the service they think is being delivered properly but couldn't see anywhere to write on the site. I am SO GLAD I walked downstairs at that moment.

    Rant over

Hope things are falling into place for the coming week for everyone.

Went into Manchester at 9.30 this morning - arrived home at 5.30 this afto. Had a whale of a time - spent a fortune but a lot of it was vouchers I'd been given for my birthday. Bought a couple of pairs of trousers and tops in M&S then treated myself to a couple of jumpers in Primarni - not sure how they'll wash but £18 for 3 jumpers worth a shot. Then finished off in Stockport and bought some more tops in Matalan with the vouchers from my returned coat. Got ds his pressy - kept the reciepts just in case he doesn't like. Treated myself to dinner out and looked in all the £1 shops and in the posh shops too. The snow came down like a blizzard at one point - all a bit magical with the Christmas lights and brass band playing carols - until I had to walk on it LOL.

Came home and was out at Morrisons doing a big food shop at 6.30 - I as glad I'd treated myself to dinner. Just want to nip to Mr T tomorrow to get a couple of last bits that I think are on offer - then if we aint got it TOUGH. I bought a piece of beef in Sainsburys for £11 - I sliced I've got 14 steaks and enough strips cut into stir fry bits for the 2 of us for 3 meals - a good buy - I have virtually everything I need for Christmas but might as well take advantage of the good offers to stock up for after Christmas - then no spending needed for ages. LOL.
